These Generations Could've Saved The World

Instead We Argue About Our Gender

Let me preface this by saying I support and love all people, no matter how you identify. I believe everyone has a right and a duty to stick up for themselves, as well as a right (and even a duty) to be proud of who they are. However, if we keep this up, there won't be a planet for us to be proud of ourselves on.

We have all of the tools and resources to fix things, as well as an ability to connect with people all over the world in a second, and we are abusing it all. You could technically teach yourself to do or be anything online, and you can find the answer to almost any question merely by typing it into a little box. And what are we doing with it? Mostly arguing with strangers we will never encounter in real life about the genitals we have (or don't have) and why we have (or don't have) them (anymore/still). We fight for ourselves while the planet we live on is dying. We worry if we look exactly how we feel we should, rather than if we can even survive for much longer on Earth. I'm not saying we need to give up fighting for ourselves, as there are definite injustices I am not addressing here. I'm just suggesting maybe some of this energy could go towards something else?

This next part is going to make some people angry, and I'm sorry because it's not meant to; Your fight for your own gender identity/pronouns is sometimes selfish. At times, it's as selfish as someone's fight for their right to wear a green shirt. No one really told them they can't wear a green shirt, but maybe one day someone said they think green shirts are stupid. Or maybe they said green shirts are actually yellow. At the end of the day, it makes no real difference, positive or negative, if someone cares if you wear a green shirt. You wouldn't ruin your day because someone told you your green shirt is actually yellow. You'd shake your head and carry on thinking about more important things.

I'm not sure if humanity is understanding this, BUT OUR PLANET IS DYING. Our natural resources are becoming more and more limited, and instead of learning any real life skills or any means to recover what we are stealing from this beautiful earth, we are arguing if a stranger on the internet used the right pronoun for a person they don't even know. This only seems like a meaningful fight right now because it's personal to so many. But please take your trauma out of it. We need to focus on bigger things, regardless of gender. When there's no food left and all our water has dried up and your children are begging to stay alive, you're not going to care if someone thinks you're too feminine or whatever-the-fk you're arguing on a daily basis. I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but that's probably because it is a harsh reality to face. We've all become selfish, egotistical planet killers with no regard for the future generations. AND LOOK AT ALL THE STUFF WE HAVE TO FIX IT!!!!!!!!
