There is "life" on Mars? Scientists say they found evidence of "fungus" growing, is it true?

The existence of "life" on Mars

As an Earth-like planet in the habitable zone of the solar system, Mars is located in a relatively mild cosmic environment, and because of the many similarities between Mars itself and Earth, many people believe that life may exist, or once existed, on Mars. One of the reasons scientists have launched many probes to Mars is to find signs of Martian life on Mars. Now humans cannot land on Mars, for the time being, only to launch unmanned probes to Mars to observe, take pictures, and collect data, but from the images returned by these probes, some scientists claim to have found "evidence" of life on Mars, what is going on?

Growing 'mushrooms' found on Mars?

A study to be published in Advances in Microbiology reports that scientists such as Rhawn Gabriel Joseph claim to have found "bushy" objects in photos of Mars after studying photos returned by rovers such as the Curiosity rover, and believe that these objects are samples of fungi growing on the surface of Mars.

With the discovery of fungal samples on Mars, could there be life on Mars? The scientists believe that the samples of the so-called "fungi" are just rocks that look like fungi, and NASA also believes that they are just rocks, but these scientists believe that they should be "fungi". Because these "mushrooms" will be a few days or weeks to grow, become smaller, and disappear, they will be in the Curiosity rover driven on the rut trail germination "grow" out. If these "fungi" are only rocks, it is reasonable that in a short period should not appear too obvious changes.

This is not the first time scientists claim to have found "mushrooms" on Mars, Joseph also said that the Opportunity rover has also photographed thousands of mushroom lichen-like rock layers, these "mushroom lichen" appears to have thin stalks and spherical caps mainly gathered on the top and sides of the Martian rocks. These "mushroom lichens" appear to have thin stalks and spherical caps and are mainly clustered on the tops and sides of the rocks. The researchers observed nine spherical objects that resembled Earth's fungi, and after three days, 12 spherical samples emerged. Moreover, as the diameter of these spherical samples expanded, the distance of the samples also appeared to increase, and some samples also appeared to move.

Although these suspected fungal objects were found, there is not enough evidence for now to prove that they are the life span of Mars. These researchers also believe that just because these objects are similar in appearance to certain organisms on Earth, doesn't mean they are anything.

The Trailblazer Mars rover has already photographed objects shaped like creatures several times

It's been a few dozen days since the Trail rover landed on Mars, and during this past time, the rover has been observing the surface of Mars, taking a large number of photos of the planet and sending those photos back to Earth. By processing these photos, scientists have got some panoramic photos of Mars. Besides, some scientists have found some strange objects after enlarging the photos of Mars.

In one of the Mars photos, there looks like a "seal" bump, from the photo can see some details of this object, the researchers called it "seal rock". In other words, this one rock looks like our Earth's seal.

In another photo, Kevin Gil, a NASA-JPL data curator, and software engineer claims to have found a fossil "Brachiosaurus", an object that looks like a "Brachiosaurus" with a long "neck ", a small "head", and a huge "body". Although it looks like a "Brachiosaurus", but the object is probably just a rock.

What does it mean if life is found on Mars?

Now more and more probes are going to Mars, and shortly, humans may be able to step on the surface of Mars, such as NASA has plans to implement a manned Mars landing program in the mid-2030s, sending astronauts to Mars. As Mars continues to be explored, the secret of whether life exists on Mars may soon be revealed. If life is found on Mars, what would it mean for us?

Perhaps, it may overturn our perceptions. On the one hand, because of the harsh environment of Mars, the life force of creatures that can survive on Mars may be beyond our imagination. On the other hand, we have never found extraterrestrial life before, so many people think that Earth may be the only living planet, but if life is found on Mars, it means that Earth is no longer the only living planet, and it also means that life may exist on other Earth-like planets. If other planets where life originated much earlier than Earth, perhaps alien civilizations more advanced than humans have emerged.

Since Mars is an Earth-like planet relatively close to our Earth, exploring Mars and looking for potential alien life on Mars is relatively small, so scientists are hoping to find a breakthrough in alien life on Mars, which is close at hand, even if it may be just microorganisms, it will refresh our knowledge.
