Where land and ocean meet, or rather will meet?

Ever wondered the newspapers your house collects are actually the doors for your input to the better future. The houses we live in are made of concrete which by the way are one of the major carbon emitting sources of green house gases and they can be easily replaced with materials like Fly Ash, Silica Fume, and Wood Ash typically called green alternative for conventional concrete. There are many more such cautious choices we make uncautiously. Let's embark on a journey where we can make better choices for a better world.

We collect huge amount of materials which can be recycled but the problem arises in putting those waste into the required pit to be recycled, but a subtle solution to this approch can be used which is taking the help of already existing supply chain for distribution of these products to collect the same back to origin.Lets take a simple example of newspaper vendors, they are fully aware of people who have what amount of newspaper or else they have situated themselves on major streets for better customer engagement we need to educate them about the extra income they can get by collecting and sending old newspapers for recycling.I have done this in my locality and the vendor now pays off the labour fees just by collecting old newspapers. The paper and pulp industries account for 7.5% of global green house emissions annually. This in fact comes as 4th most aggressive contributer for green house emissions. By just doing my part and encouraging the vendor to educate others about the profits they will get by selling directly to vendor I have made him as well as my locality cutshort thier carbon footprint to an inch of a mile but this approch is spreading like fire as the vendor now is making extra sums of money and encouraging more like him to follow the same. Though they are doing it for the profit but I feel satisfied that somes greed is used in saving our earth. The same can be effectively applied to any stationary supply chain as well. The indirect impact of this remains hidden but works wonder as well, meaning now more material is available to recycle and effectively by using lower transport measures as one person is collecting in one location and forwarding this directly to main pit to recycle the material which means lower use of transport for logistics!

A Green Cement Construction

As discussed in the introduction concrete industry accounts for huge sum of carbon emission to our environment and the use of traditional concrete goes on without check and awareness that how much damaging impact it's having to our earth. I came across one research paper clearly stating that cement production which is prior process of making a concrete mix has 5% contribution in harmful gas emission for global warming sake, I have opted for green concrete to make my house which ensures that I don't join the bandwagon of conventional concrete. Took the challenge of going green by paying little extra and got the masterpiece as seen in the picture. The beauty was degined but I took the effort to let others also know about the main reason this looks great, it's basically built out of care for nature and making cautious effort to improve it at my end. The story sold quickly and many of my friends opted for same material. I congratulated them and presented them with a sapling of spruce. Again I could have opted for a beautiful showpiece or a plastic so called useful item for living room but I decided to make their garden environment friendly. Since then every year I receive a sapling as present from them and this makes me proud that I have changed the notion of intently using harmful items for environment, to thinking about the impact of this small action and changing it to making decisions for the enviroment's health.

When you arrive as guest in my home, after a good meal we start doing some strange things and ask our guests to try the same! we simply say have a taste of spoon as well, to which most of them say "What?" but after the first try and joining our madness they usually ask for another spoon just to eat it! Hahaha it's soo pleasing the have Edible Cutlery in house and surprising the guests with it. The inclusion of edible cutlery happened when one of my friends gifted my a whole set of it in response to my gift on her birthday (a sapling). What goes around comes around! The conventional cutlery strong hands plastic, chemical and metal industries which are the most harmful industries as per their carbon footprint and edible flatware strong arms the holistic agriculture produce like Ragi and Millets which by the way are good to eat as they have digestive fibers with the goodness of environment protection not to mention these flatware comes in different flavours as well! We are in the verge of tripping point of our climate, either we all will take the concious efforts now or will suffer then get up. But the suffering is harsh, act not let others know options they have over the conventional tools and methods for better environment.

This is The Smile We are Fighting For

Finally, thank you for your read. I just want to give a last suggestion, if you don't know where to start and be a saviour of environment, just start by changing all your gifting options to green environment friendly ones. This will give you insights and others inspiration for acting towards this cause. We as humanity relay on you and the members of our family "Earth" beneath oceans, in the forests and in the reefs are dependent on the choices we make. Just pledge for yourself that you will protect the smile of many creatures like this dolphin. Hope to get many more suggestions and idea on same cause from your side.
