With the oceans filling with plastic and becoming increasingly acidic, many people realize that the lifestyles we maintain just aren’t sustainable if we’d like the planet to remain the beautiful, blue globe we currently enjoy. Unfortunately, our society is built on systems, products, and an overall culture that encourages the bad habits that got us here in the first place. It doesn’t have to be that way, we can learn together how to be better citizens of Earth.

By subscribing to my series of newsletters, you gain access to helpful tips and information to help you live a more sustainable life. You’ll also gain access to my exclusive member community, where you can take part in activities and challenges and share your successes. So, what should you expect from your membership?

Every week, I’ll take a deep dive into hot eco-topics that matter, such as:

Eco-Friendly Product Reviews

Finding sustainable products is not always easy, and you may have trouble finding what you need at Costco or Walmart. So, in both the community and my newsletter, I’ll feature an environmentally friendly product or service with an eye toward affordability and quality.

Topics include:

• Eco-friendly Laundry Detergent: Why You Should Ditch the Jug.

• Sustainable Toileting: Bidets and Bamboo vs. Recycled Toilet Paper.

• Reducing Plastic Waste Through Sustainable Toothpaste Products

• Bio-Plastics: Renewable Plastic Made from Organic Materials

Upcycling Guides

Upcycling is an excellent way to reuse items and materials that are difficult for many recycling companies to process, such as plastic bags. Together, we’ll learn how to create usable products step by step. You’ll learn how to create beautiful and unique gifts or practical items for your home. For example, you’ll learn how to make gorgeous flower pens, like the one below, using bags from the grocery store.

Gain Eco-knowledge and Awareness of Critical Issues

Occasionally, the newsletter will feature an in-depth article about crucial problems or exciting breakthroughs. I love researching and sharing information about environmental issues and, more importantly, solutions.

Topics include:

• Recycling: Understanding the Process

• Microplastics

• Mushrooms: Pollutant Munching Eco-Miracles?

• So, What’s the Deal with Family Cloths?

I’ll also take suggestions from the community. If there is an cause that is close to your heart or a solution you think everyone needs to know about, share it with me! I love learning from others, and creating a more sustainable future is going to take teamwork!

Weekly Challenges and Community Engagement

Every week in the community, I will feature an activity or challenge to inspire and motivate you to take action. You will receive tips for success and have opportunities to ask questions and share your advice and successes with other members.

Challenges include a plastic-free week, where we’ll do our best to avoid buying products that leave behind plastic waste. For example, if you need to purchase a new toothbrush, consider buying one made from bamboo, as it is biodegradable and decays quickly once in the environment.

We’ll also dedicate a week to collecting trash, where we improve the look of local outdoor spaces, such as parks and hiking trails. Experts have recently learned that litter causes litter, so our efforts could reduce future garbage dumping in those areas. Afterward, we’ll celebrate together and talk about what we struggled with, what went well, and what we learned from the experience.
