One wonders

Is Australia a country

Is Australia a continent

Then Australia is a continent country

Then Australia is a nation in a continent

This speaks of the size of Australia

This speaks of vast size of Australia

First is the history of Australia

Itself an attraction

The Aboriginal people talk about this history

The Aboriginal people will talk about this history

Stories so demanding of patience to hear

Stories so occupying to hear

Worship sites this history might take

Farming sites this history might take

Hunting sites this history might take

Medicinal plant sites this history might take

It is a great thing to have this history

For it speaks of Australia

For it speaks of attraction in the first ranks

That one had better hear it

That one had better learn it

To understand Australia today

To learn Australia tomorrow

By Orion Chan on Unsplash

Then one hears about territories

Then one learns about territories

Then one visits territories

Territories used to evoke different feelings

And in Australia are territories

Two of these territorial places

Are dubbed inland territories

Northern and Australian Capital Territories

The implication is the other eight territories are

Outland territories

This is the stuff to attract one to learn

This is the stuff to attract one to see

The territorial beauty of Australia!

Stray not in Australia

For one will have to learn about

For one will to visit the states

They come six in number

New South Wales

Victoria

Queensland

Western Australia

South Australia

Tasmania

By the time one visits all these six states

By the time one visits all these ten territories

Australia is all yours truly known

In the state distribution

In the territory distribution

To seek to decipher what a state does or does not

To seek to decipher what a territory does or does not

Speaks of the fun in Australia’s vast size

The fun is not yet over

Until one has seen Australia’s endowments

One would want to dispose off Sidney Harbour Bridge

At sunset is the time to savour this bridge

And capture moments of memory

By Photoholgic on Unsplash

But if one is not into things artificial

But if one is into things nature

Catch the Great Barrier Reef's coral

And one will be positively amazed

The variety of life is stunning

The different colours are appealing

By NEOM on Unsplash

And since one has seen the corals

Then spice it up with the lakes

Lake Eyre is famous for size

Lake Eyre is famous for birdlife

In it the pelican will transfix one

In their swimming styles and

Their wide wing ways

And their big beaks

If one is the type who loves wildlife

Catch the kangaroos and koalas and others

This is where Kangaroo Island in South Australia

Come in handy for a visit

Though other places offer the same sights

It is an international piece of instruction that

The kangaroos hop for more than 5 metres at ago

Australia is just the place to witness this

In the wild

Not in the zoo

Australia has one covered

A beauty indeed Australia is

By James Wainscoat on Unsplash

As for the koalas Australian animals

As for the koalas unique Australian animals

The Blue Mountains in New South Wales

Offers the bonus mountain view

In addition to vast eucalyptus forests

The koalas will be there waiting

And eating their leaves high above trees

Plus a huge perch of birds

Flying and perching

The beauty Australia indeed.

There is something about the jungle

That evokes courage and conquest

That many awarded films are of jungle goings

As such the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia

In Queensland State give just this feel

Put in close tow that unique export of Australia

To the rest of the world, the eucalyptus tree,

they come in huge forests spread allover

Australia is beautiful.

By Arjun Valiya Parambathu on Unsplash

One would include in the itinerary

Tasmanian wilderness which whacks in ways

Forests and birds and the Tasmania devil

That small mammal with screams and growls

They are nowhere else but in Tasmania

That is why Australia is unique

In its natural beauty

By Michael Jerrard on Unsplash

One might also want to look up

The lyrebird with its abilities to mimic sounds

If the sound power chainsaw one hears

A good thing, give such a person a chase

And word of serious caution to save the environment

Only that one might see the lyrebird in action

Mimicking a power chain saw

And one will have been so tired

Looking for it the whole day

It will be fun

The lying sounds of the lyrebird

It continues to be fun in Australia

By Geoffrey Moore on Unsplash

In case one has a lot more energy left

In case one seeks to discover more

Try desert walks in Australia

Guided walks in deserts is a guarded note

To always keep in mind

Australia is truly place of variants

Australia is truly place of varying beauty

By frank mckenna on Unsplash

Tired a lot!

One can retire to the numerous lakes

One can retire to the numerous ocean shores

And take a dive swim

As one watches out for crocs

As one heeds advice on sharks

Or just absorb the sun

And caress one’s feet with the sand.

By Photoholgic on Unsplash

With all this nature given beauty

One wonders why Australia

Is lead in environmental vulnerability

Fires just flare up from nowhere

Droughts are getting so prolonged

Corals that were multi coloured drab bleached they be

Hitherto ecological balance suffers distorts

To mining, urbanization and agric

Human appetite to introduce foreign animals

In the bad numbers of foxes, feral cats

Have burdened native fauna to extincts

The indigenous are decrying loss of land rights

The dryness in Australia is becoming drier

By Iain Kennedy on Unsplash

A nation country continent of this vastness

Must minds its present and future

That sustainability to the tokens must not be

Thus a call to beautiful Australia
