Introduction:

The political landscape in Pakistan witnessed significant changes over the past year following the removal of Prime Minister Imran Khan from office. The removal of Prime Minister Imran Khan is controversial as many people believed the Americans were behind this regime change because they were unhappy for his region pro policies and on the visit of Russia. However, there are certain power corridors in Pakistan that played their roles for his removal. The military establishment of Pakistan has history of removing people from government since Pakistan independence and Army Chief of Pakistan at that time Mr. Qamar Javed Bajwa also helped oppositions including PML(N), PPP, JUI etc to remove Mr. Imran Khan to get away from their corruption cases. This article aims to provide an overview of the political situation in Pakistan during this period, highlighting the key events, challenges, and implications for the country's governance and democratic processes.

Political Developments:

Following Prime Minister Imran Khan's removal, a period of political transition ensued. After an extended period of negotiations and consultations, a new government was formed with a coalition of opposition parties coming together to establish a coalition government led by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). This coalition government faced the challenge of managing diverse ideologies, balancing power dynamics, and addressing the expectations of a wide range of stakeholders. Since then PTI demanded fair and transparent elections to select the new prime minister to end the political instability in the country which Pakistan is facing right now 26% inflation has been increased after Imran Khan removal. (PML-N) and (PPP) insisted Imran Khan to dissolve it's Provincial governments in KPK and Punjab if he wants election. In response PTI dissolve their governments in both provinces which brought more instability since then the current regime of Pakistan is running from election by any mean possible. There has been multiple protests going on daily or weekly basis which are oppressed by current regime and even people goes missing speaking on these issues. The Prime example is Mr. Arshad Shareef was Pakistani journalist, writer, and television news anchor who was killed in Kenya for speaking against current regime and establishment in October 2022 and another Pakistani journalist, writer, and television news anchor Mr. Imran Riaz Khan who first fired from his job then arrested without any valid reason and then released and he went missing again in may his family and people who knows him says that he's been arrested from Sialkot airport and in his last video he also mentioned it but police is denying on his arrest.

Election Called:

The Caretaker governments took over in KPK and Punjab after PTI dissolve both assemblies. There were multiple attempts of negotiations between government and PTI which failed due to election dates. However, caretaker governments completed their 90 days terms and President of Pakistan intervened and called for election which was turn down by government of PML(N), PPP and multiple parties. The Supreme court of Pakistan took notice and summoned election commission of Pakistan and government of Pakistan and gave judgement in which The supreme court of Pakistan announced election in may 15, 2023. Government of Pakistan refused to implement on their judgement. Right before election date on may 9th government decided to arrest Mr. Imran Khan and all PTI leadership which led to protests in the country. However, the article 244 has been invoked since the regime change operation this whole time and whenever people protests there have been arrests and bogus charges going on.

Funny Part:

Even though article 244 is invoked and there has been multiple arrests in capital city Islamabad. While on the other hand The government of Pakistan decided to protest in their government against supreme court in Islamabad, in front of supreme court, in red zone and they were allowed to do so. In fact it seemed they were welcomed there to attack on supreme as they did in past. Now, the news is in upcoming days they will protest in their own government then negotiating party will be formed by the government that will negotiate with protestors who turns out to be government itself.
