If every capable human being from one side of the earth to the other, made a conscious effort to come up with an idea-plan to help clean and purify our planet, Mother Earth would be helped tremendously.

What would your idea be? Mine would be to eliminate pollution altogether. But that is done in one step at a time.

How about going green? Going green seems to a very practical way to clean our environment. Perhaps start by getting rid of toxic household cleaners, and replacing them with pure green products. Which are a so much better for our health. So a win win.

We can go another step further by not using harmful sprays on our veggie gardens and wild plant life. There are natural DIY pesticides that are affective in aiding our gardens and crops of harmful critters.

There are homemade herbicides which are better for us, for our soil, and our local waterways.

We have learned throughout the years that strong chemical herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides, can end up polluting our drinking water, our ground water, and our surface water. So it is so important to give much thought and consideration to the long term effects of using them.

The most environmentally friendly way to get rid of weeds is to pull them up, dig out the roots, let them dry in the sun, and then add them to a compost or mulch pile.

That sounds great; however, it is time consuming and troublesome if you have a bad back.

Another way is to drench weeds with boiling water-

Boil water on your stove, and then pour it over the leaves and stems of the weeds that you want gone. It is also an excellent way for killing weeds in sidewalk and driveway cracks.

Flame and Heat-

Apply heat to weeds by using a flame-weeder tool. This tool can be purchased from most home and garden stores. Apply flame and heat directly to the weeds. Please do use extra precautions with this method, as we don’t want to start any fires.

Douse with table salt-

Mixture: Dissolve 1 part salt to 8 parts hot water. For a stronger solution use 1 part salt to 3 parts water. Add a little liquid dish soap to help it adhere to the leaf surfaces. Pour into spray bottle. It is important to apply the solution directly to the leaves of the weeds, and not to soak the soil. Especially in garden beds with other more desirable plants.

Spray with white vinegar-

Applying this common household item to weed leaves will destroy them. The vinegar can be applied by spraying full strength, but be careful to minimize any over spraying on garden plants and nearby soil.

How else can we help Mother Earth with cleansing and restoring our environment?

ECO-Clothing-

When we think of pollution, we usually think of big oil companies and smog from coal mines. But the truth is, the fast fashion industry is one of the central polluting industries in the world.

According to Green Apparel For a Better World-Not only is clothing production harmful to our planet 🌎, but the process also kills thousands of farmers and producers each year, due to chemicals and waste.

Thank goodness the brand industries are becoming aware of our environmental situation, and are now doing their part by introducing clothing that is made by utilizing eco-friendly production methods.

This includes: Low-impact dying, up cycling natural materials, and growing organic pesticide-free cotton.

The clothing industry now introduces eco-brands such as: Boden, Pact, Organic Basics, Vetta, People Tree, tentree, Thought Clothing, Two Day Off, Soluna Collective, Back Beat Co, and United by Blue.

When buying clothing purchase from these retail outlets. It is another way we can personally protect our planet, and at the same time we are supporting industries that are doing their best on making a positive impact.
