Listen: Have aliens already visited humans? The answer is a little strange

Have aliens already visited humans?

Harvard theoretical physicist Avi Loeb aired a podcast called "Is 'Oumuamua (a strange object that appeared in the solar system in 2017) an alien product."

Avi Loeb, a theoretical physicist from Harvard University, wants you to seriously consider the possibility that (it is) the product of an alien civilization that traveled across the solar system in 2017. The object, called "Oumuamua" or "messenger" by Earth astronomers, was traveling at a speed that suggested an origin outside our solar system. But we never get close enough to see what it really looks like. Over the past few years, Loeb has argued that 'Oumuamua is an alien product. In an episode of the University of Chicago Brain podcast, Loeb discusses the debate and explains why he thinks we need to invest more in developing cosmic archaeology to explore alien life.

'Oumuamua is flying too fast (196,000 mph, or 54 mph or 87.3 km/s) to have originated in our solar system. Avi Loeb's thoughts on the subject caused a stir in the scientific community. He stated:

People tend to be preconceived and I think it's dangerous because we just don't know who our neighbors are or what their purpose is.

Avi Loeb is the author of the new book, Aliens: The First Signs of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth. Want to read more of Avi Loeb's thoughts on 'Oumuamua being an alien artifact and his book? Please see this article.

We know it entered our solar system - sweeping near the sun on September 9, 2017 - and returned to interstellar space. Astronomers are still trying to piece together its story. Image via ESO/M. Conclusion: In the interview, Harvard professor Avi Loeb claimed that E.T. aliens had already visited humans.

Extraterrestrial life is a hypothetical form of life that did not originate from Earth and arise outside of Earth. This type of life covers from simple prokaryotes (or similar life forms) to intelligent life and even Homo sapiens, and its civilization development may far exceed that of human beings. The Drake formula speculates on the possibility of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. study of extraterrestrial life

Ongoing research to find signs of extraterrestrial life has been active since the mid-20th century. This includes two types of research: one that studies current or past extraterrestrial life, and one that involves a narrower range of research on extraterrestrial intelligent life. Depending on the type of research, research methods range from analyzing telescope and sample data to using radio waves to detect and transmit communications signals.

Extraterrestrial life, especially extraterrestrial intelligence, has had a culture shock on us in science fiction. Over the years, science fiction has conveyed many scientific ideas, imagined a variety of possibilities, and influenced public interest and perceptions of extraterrestrial life. One of the famous debates is the wisdom of actively trying to connect with extraterrestrial intelligence. Some support active attempts to connect with extraterrestrial intelligence. Others argue that calling attention to Earth is extremely dangerous by citing the example of advanced technological civilizations always enslaving or erasing backward technological civilizations.

'Oumuamua is the first known interstellar object to be detected passing through our solar system. It was discovered by Robert Weryk on October 19, 2017, 40 days after it passed its perihelion on September 9, using the Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System Telescope at the Haleakala Observatory in Hawaii, and was officially designated 1I/2017 U1 . When it was first observed, it was about 33 million kilometers (21 million miles; 0.22 AU; about 85 times the distance between Earth and Moon) from Earth and had already begun to fly away from the Sun.

In July 2019, astronomers concluded that "Oumuamua is very likely a natural object." A handful of astronomers have suggested that "Oumuamua may be the product of alien technology, but there is insufficient evidence to support this hypothesis." In March 2021, scientists disclosed a theory based on nitrogen ice: "Oumuamua may be similar to Pluto. A piece of exoplanet from outside our solar system."
