Do You Know Your Weather?

By Shirley BelkPublished 20 days ago 3 min read
Welcome to the month of June...yes, it's HOT already

Happy New Month of June! It's beginning with sunshine, and I like that. But the humidity is skyrocketing. So, today, on the first day of June, I'm going to be grateful for the shade of trees!

My current situation in my hometown

According to this article*, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration considers relative humidity levels of 50 percent or more and dewpoints (a direct measure of relative humidity) above 65 F to be high and uncomfortably.

Today humidity is 62% and dew point is 68%=feels like it's really 93 degrees. Not only thankful for shade trees, but also for my central air :)

No wind, No breeze, No reprieve!

Barometric air pressure causes changes in the weather and also to our health:

from Pinterest (Barometric pressure)

So, according to this chart, the pressure is steady, causing little change to weather.

Can your joints tell what the air pressure is? YES! **This article explains it:

"When there is a drastic increase in barometric pressure, the muscles in your arthritic joint or the soft tissues tend to contract. This is because denser air pushes against the body and muscles; hence causing the muscles to contract, which leads to pain."

What about migraines and sinus problems? Does air pressure have any part in this kind of pain? YES! In the same reference source on joints, "Unlike joint pain, low barometric pressure is the cause of pain for patients with migraines...Our sinuses are mostly filled with air and sinus fluid. which are kept at equilibrium during normal temperatures or normal barometric temperatures. When there is an increase or decrease in barometric pressure, this can cause the sinus liquid together with the air to be imbalanced leading to pain...increased atmospheric pressure can cause the mucus produced in the sinus and nasal passages to thicken, blocking proper air and blood flow around the head, which can lead to sinus headaches. Similarly, during extremely low-pressure cases, the nasals tissues expand, and as a result, it gets irritated, which leads to pain and discomfort."

And of course, always be on the look-out for the pollen count, which can trigger more aggravation! Today it is a high count :(

Wikipedia tells us that "A pollen count is a measurement of the number of pollen grains in a given volume of air. Pollen counts, and forecasts of pollen conditions, are routinely produced and reported to the public because high aerial pollen concentration is associated with increased rates of allergic reaction for those with conditions such as hay fever and asthma."

So much pollen and so little time (Pinterest)

June is a sweet anticipation for many, (Swimmers, Brides, and Geminis)

Unless you hate that school's out for summer...and have an itch to learn

Noted flowers out would be beautiful roses and fragrant magnolias

Earth is the community I've chosen. It requires 600 words. (Almost there)

Luke 21: 29-30 He (Jesus) told them this parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near.

With a lot of power outages and machinery failure. ~Can you feel barometric pressure changes in your health? Yes! Yes! Shifting from winters to summers there significant changes. ~What song matches the weather you are having as you read this? No song comes to my mind. ~Does humidity do anything wonky to your hair? Yes! It does make it seem like I have used a wax or a gel. ~Are you able to actually smell the rain before it happens? Some do. Yes! And the smell is one of my favourites. ~What type of pollen do you wish the bees had kept to themselves? Bees! Keep pollen to themselves .. I didn't know that. I thought they distributed it

This ain't just a typical June day. It's the same all year round. ~Can you feel barometric pressure changes in your health? Nope, none that I've been aware of. ~What song matches the weather you are having as you read this? I'm sorry, I can't think of anything at the moment 😅😅 ~Does humidity do anything wonky to your hair? Nope but maybe because it's already wonky because it's always humid here hahahahaha ~Are you able to actually smell the rain before it happens? Some do. Nope. I only know it's gonna rain if it vets dark hehehe ~What type of pollen do you wish the bees had kept to themselves? You mean that there are pollens that bees give away? Oh you mean by pollination. Sorry I thought like exchanging Christmas gifts hahahahahaha. Sorry I don't know what's wrong with me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
