But to make millions it will be enough to open your own small business in this field of activity. What are the most profitable ways to make money on waste disposal?

Recycling tires.

There are not many tire recycling plants, but you can make good money on recycling car tires. The fact is that from one ton of car tires you can get about 700 kilograms of high-quality rubber. This rubber can be reused in the manufacture of building materials or other rubber materials, or it can become a source of fuel production. Opening a large tire recycling plant is tricky, but no one said that a mini-plant would generate a bad income for its owner. In order to deal with the recycling of car tires, you need a special installation that will process about five tons of tires per day.

Also, you will need workers who will check the received tires for the presence of metal rims and other unnecessary materials in them, they will also prepare the tires before how they get to the recycling machine. The cost of installing a car, rent, salaries of workers and other expenses will cost about 15–16 thousand dollars. But such a business will pay off within the first year of operation.

Waste paper recycling.

Waste paper refers to waste paper on which you can not only build a profitable business but also help the environment. Waste paper accounts for about 50% of all waste. Before starting a waste paper business, it is worth understanding all the nuances. First, the paper is classified into three grades based on quality: high, medium, and low. The first grade includes white paper and paper bags, the second grade includes cardboard and printed products (except newspapers), and the third grade includes newspapers and low-grade cardboard. In order to receive the waste paper, you will need a special room where you can receive and sort the paper.

You will also need equipment for paper processing, but before you buy it, you need to decide on what exactly you want to make money in the processing process — on food paper, on boxes, or on cardboard. It's useful to note, that the second option will be less costly, but more profitable. In addition, boxes do not have such high requirements as food paper. Several workers must constantly be present in your production, who will accept waste paper, sort it and work with equipment for processing raw materials.

The total amount of equipment installation, premises rent, employees’ salaries, and payment for accepted waste paper is about 500–600 thousand dollars. All costs are recouped within a year, provided continuous operation without problems and failures. The profitability of the waste paper business is more than 50%, and recycling waste paper can bring more than $ 20 thousand in revenue per month. It is necessary to pay attention to the fact that paper recycling is a very environmentally friendly business and we are ready to support it as various environmental organizations.

Recycling of plastic bottles.

This kind of activity can be quite lucrative for a small business, especially nowadays. Plastic bottles are everywhere, they have become an integral part of human life. In order to start a plastic bottle recycling business, the first thing you need is a room and special equipment. With the proper organization of business and paperwork, you can be allocated a free room.

This can be done by the state as part of an environmental program. You can also get a cash grant to open such a business. The simplest equipment for plastic recycling will cost about 7–8 thousand dollars. The most profitable business can be built on the processing of transparent plastic bottles because they are the most expensive on the market (about $ 300–400 per ton). Also, before starting an activity, it is important to determine the distribution channel for recyclable materials. These can be manufactures and firms that manufacture plastic products. With a well-established sales channel, your monthly income can be 23–24 thousand dollars.

Glass recycling.

Another direction in the processing of recyclable materials will be gladly supported by the state and environmental organizations. With a competent business plan and the preparation of all the details, glass recycling will bring considerable income. Remember that such activities must be registered, so we advise you to contact professionals for help in the process of collecting and processing documents. As in the previous methods of earning on recyclable materials, for organizing a glass processing business, you need a room where raw materials will be received and processed.

Special equipment for breaking glass is inexpensive — you can invest in 5–10 thousand dollars. But if you want to sell finished raw materials, you need special dryers, shredders, molds, and ovens, which will cost about 23 thousand dollars. But finished raw materials on the market will cost several times more. The average price per ton of broken glass is about $ 50. But it all depends on the production to which you will sell recyclable materials.

Scrap metal recycling.

The profitability of the metal processing business is about 20%. The organization of such a business is a little complicated because, besides the legalization of the business, you will need an enterprise with a workshop for metal processing, equipped according to the requirements of modern technologies. The scrap metal processing business is promising since the metal will always be in demand regardless of the state of the country’s economy. Secondary processing of metal does not harm the raw materials, the metal does not lose its properties and, after remelting, can be used to manufacture products. Special equipment that will be needed during processing is a baling press (1 piece — from 7–10 thousand dollars) and press-shears (from 300 thousand dollars).

Wastewater treatment.

Also, you can buy equipment for the treatment and processing of wastewater. It includes a grease trap, which is an indispensable component of modern catering facilities, buildings, and industrial workshops. Installing a grease separator in the drain removes grease from domestic or industrial wastewater.
