The Guinness Book of World Records was first published in 1955 with a single purpose: to document various world records set by people throughout history. The book is released every year, updating the broken records and documenting new ones, but there are certain world records that are simply impossible to break.

The most consumed metal

There are people who, instead of eating a large bucket of ice cream, chew on a metal rod. Michel Lotito consumed over 9,000 kg of metal throughout his lifetime, including a small airplane.

The heaviest airplane pull

Kevin Fast, who holds several weight pulling world records, pulled a 188-ton airplane for a distance of 9 meters in 2009. According to Kevin Fast, he believes he could pull the airplane even further.

The tallest person in the world

Robert Wadlow, born in 1918, is the tallest person ever recorded in history. He reached a height of precisely 2.72 meters (8 feet 11.1 inches). Breaking this record solely depends on genetics, but it seems unlikely that it will be surpassed.

The heaviest weight lifted with the tongue

Yes, this is indeed a world record. The record for the heaviest weight lifted with the tongue is held by Thomas Blackthorne, who is of English origin. He lifted a total of 12.2 kg (26.9 lbs) with his tongue.

The record for the most straws held in the mouth

The record for the most straws held in the mouth (without using hands) is held by Manoj Kumar Maharana from India, who managed to hold 459 plastic straws.

The woman with the longest nails

Lee Redmond, an American woman, held the record for the longest nails in history. She grew her nails for over 30 years, and in 2008, they measured over 8.65 meters (28 feet 4.5 inches) in total length. Unfortunately, she lost her nails in a car accident in 2009. Despite that, Lee Redmond remains an iconic figure in the world of extreme nail length.

The most sock put on one foot in one minute

The most socks put on one foot in one minute is 52, achieved by Pavol Ďurdik (Slovakia) in Puchov, Slovakia, on 21 February 2017.Pavol has beaten his own record by one sock.

Most brick on someone's head

Some people are fascinated by strange things, such as the habit where certain individuals attempt to balance various objects on their heads. John Evens tried it and managed to reach 101 bricks. He held a total weight of 181 kg on his head. He lasted for 10 seconds. It's a wonder his neck didn't break. It's likely that this world record won't be broken anytime soon.

The richest cat

Ben Rea, who passed away in 1988, named his cat Blackie as the world's wealthiest cat, as he left his $12.5 million fortune to his pets. Among his 15 cats, Blackie ended up living the longest and thus inherited the entire sum. Aside from the cats, Rea also supported three charitable organizations, but his family did not receive a penny.

The fastest marathon dressed as a vegetable

How long would it take you to run a marathon dressed as a vegetable? Edward Lumley from London managed to do it in 2 hours, 59 minutes, and 33 seconds in 2012, wearing a carrot costume. Without a vegetable costume, the current world record is held by a Kenyan at 2:02:57.

For some, these records may be mere amusing curiosities, while for others, they can serve as sources of encouragement and inspiration. Nevertheless, such strange and awe-inspiring records motivate all of us to discover our own unique abilities and pursue our dreams, even in uncharted territories that the whole world may not be familiar with.
