Covid has opened a wide arena for meeting new people.

I met a new friend Elaine through an acquaintance.

An online friend, who has become a phone friend and a

business friend.

Isn't it great.

The WWW. World Wide Web.

Ducks in Canada

She sends me snapshots of her enjoyment of nature.

I am living vicariously through her pictures in Canada.

I hope to meet her in person soon.

She is wonderful. So kind hearted.

WRITING TO ME IS LIKE FLOWERS TO HER

She revels in her flower garden, Elaine sells these plants and is doing

so well just tending them.

I am a member of the garden club from afar.

Sand cherry

She takes pride in her lovely green plants

Ready for pickup

And shares the many colors of Spring and Summer

Which she grows and prunes with love and proud caring.

Her joy in her plants is an inspiration to me.

Crab apple tree blossoms

I am working at pruning my words to be worthy of her friendship,

and become better at using my words as we are getting better

at nurturing our friendship.

She posts on her "THE GARDEN GIRLS' on Facebook.

Heirloom primrose

Rearing beautiful flowers is not easy, nor is it for everyone.

Plants and flowers like attention.

They love that you give them love as much as you give them water

or plant food.

You have to prune them and seriously, they do like you to talk to them.

Many people plant a garden and it never flourishes.

It actually dies.

I think you have to have an affinity for the earth

and the earth has to accept your pact with it and it will allow

you access to its many secrets.

Tiny purple wild violets

I also love to plant and watch things grow.

Mine are planted and mostly reside indoors.

No back garden right now.

Getting my garden soon.

My thumbs are as green as Elaine's.

I plant something and it flourishes. Even indoors.

Just a little attention and all is well with me and the plant.

Elaine has space and lots of love for her gardening

and pruning.

This was not intended to be entered as a challenge. But I realize that we do not have to have a large project to contribute to the preservation of nature.

We do not have to plant a forest or create wonderful masterpieces. All we need to do is something small and meaningful.

If we all had a garden like Elaine's, just caring, watering, pruning and selling or donating to others to enhance their surroundings and their lives counts in the fight to preserve mother earth.

Making a backyard garden, or a community garden and joining with others to plant a tree, or adopt a tree and caring for it.

My tiny window garden matter. My indoor garden matter. But if you have large or small outdoor spaces, plant some trees or flowers.

Trees and plants produce oxygen, allowing us to breathe healthy air, and cleans carbon dioxide out of the air we breathe.

Without trees life would not matter. We need trees to remove particles from the air and reduce smog.

Trees are central for good air quality.

Most importantly, trees anchor the soil to the earth.

Cleaner air promotes cleaner water, cleaner water promotes healthier people. Ocean and sea life will fare better and contribute to fresher more pure sea and ocean life .

Life is a cycle, and if we stay still enough to meditate on the wonders around us, and become attuned to our inner selves in creation we may surprise ourselves at how magnificent this world really is and try harder to preserve it's natural beauty.
