

Known as the Earth’s lungs, the Amazon Rainforest is home to a wide variety of animals such as the anaconda, jaguar, piranha, poison dart frog, and black caiman. Among the foliage mosquitoes lurk, waiting to spread diseases like dengue fever, malaria, and the Zika virus. Because a large portion of the Amazon is remote, humans risk encountering hazards like flooding, excessive rainfall, and aggressive animals.

This area, the Aokigahara Forest, which is northwest of Mount Fuji, has seen numerous suicides throughout the years. Police discovered 105 bodies in 2003 alone. Suicides are linked to the forest, and some believe that senicide (the practice of killing the elderly) occurred here in the 19th century. People think the ghosts that were abandoned to perish are haunting the woodland, and if not careful, it could be difficult to find a path leading out of the dense forest. The Asian black bear, deer, foxes, wild boars, and Eurasian jays make their homes here. You have to be careful, but it is a popular place to hike and explore.

The first season of the reality show “Survivor” was shot in the Borneo Rainforest on the tropical island of Borneo. It is an untamed and dangerous place.

There are 380 bird species, 15,000 plant species, and animals roaming about such as dangerous snakes, Asian elephants, Borneo orangutans, Sumatran rhinoceroses, and lethal scorpions.

You run the danger of contracting malaria or the Ebola virus in the Congo Rainforest, so before traveling to Africa, get vaccinated.

Animals living here include gorillas, hippos, elephants, and leopards. It is best to explore in pairs or a group since this rainforest is a very lonely place.

One of the most hazardous forests is the Daintree Rainforest in Australia.

It is home to crocodiles and snakes among the local fauna, and the woodland has stinging plants that can hurt and irritate.

The Darien Gap is a deep jungle in Panama and Columbia. It is home to some of the world’s most hazardous animals. The jungle is an isolated and uninhabited place. The area hosts apex predators such as the American crocodile, jaguars, pumas, and ocelots.

Arboreal mammals like spider monkeys and howler monkeys are also found in the forest canopy. Humans must beware of the poison dart frogs. Since there are no roads, the Darien Gap has to be crossed on foot.

The Dering Woods is sometimes called the Screaming Woods. Near the woods is the haunted town of Pluckley in Kent, England. The strange paranormal activity that occurs here includes the ghost of an enigmatic, beheaded man prowling the woods. Locals saw lights and heard cries on Halloween 1948, and after, over 20 bodies were discovered stacked in the woods the following morning. This area is known for its eerie legends and ghost stories, including tales of a highwayman who haunts the woods after being lynched in the 18th century. The woods are a popular destination for walkers and nature enthusiasts, offering interesting wildlife and scenic walks. For those who still want to explore the Dering Woods, caution is the word.

Gadchiroli Forest is situated in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is home to a variety of animals, among them tigers, bears, leopards, and deer, as well as other plant and tree species.

Some of the world’s most hazardous locations are found in India, among them a number of rainforests. One is in Kamataka, the Jog Falls Forest. Hikers pass through dense woodlands and shadowy caverns to reach the falls. A large portion of the forest remains isolated and deserted.

Among the foliage are elephants, gigantic flying squirrels, and lion-tailed macaques.
