The MittiCool Clay refrigerator is a sustainable & unique product that uses Terracotta clay as the main insulating material. Clay is known for its excellent insulating properties. The clay walls help to maintain a cool temperature in the refrigerator for several hours even on the hottest days. The total capacity of this Fridge is 50 litres, with 10 litres of water stored on the top. This water is used to keep the walls of the clay cool, which helps in storing fruits and vegetables for 4-5 days and dairy products for 24 hours. You can also drink this water using the tap.

How to use

Before using the refrigerator, fill the upper water tank with water and empty it after 12 hours to allow the clay to get used to the water. For the first 3 months of use, add only 1 litre of water to the tank to avoid leakage into the lower chamber due to high porosity. After 3 months, you can slowly increase the amount of water in the tank to 10 litres. Read more here
