Flowers are among the most beautiful creations of God on Earth. What would be a better gift for your loved ones other than flowers? It's said that blossoms are the most delightful part of nature making everyone happy around them. There are a lot of varieties, shapes, colours and amazements in the flower world. Sometimes they even surprise us with their unique and rare colour combinations or designs. Here in this article, I have introduced the 7 of the rarest and most unique flower species from the globe. Hope you will also be amazed, as much as I am!

1. Lady's Slipper Orchid

Lady's slipper orchids are found in America and Eurasia. There are around 165 distinct species and most of them are of pink, white and yellow colour. The flower has a unique shape and looks like a pouch or a lady’s slipper. It is also called Squirrel Foot, Moccasin flower and Camel's Foot just because of its quirky shape. The pouch-shaped part is used to trap insects or pollinators. Not just their shape but these flowers are unique, also because they have two anthers unlike other flowers (other blooms have only one anther)!

The population of the orchids have started decreasing due to higher demand and natural habitat loss. The blooms are rarely seen in the Himalayas and their cultivation is also restricted in India by the Wildlife Protection Act. Some species are even considered endangered.

2. Chocolate Cosmos

Chocolate Cosmos are indigenous to Mexico and are believed to be at the edge of extinction. However, some records say that they are in abundance in Mexico. The lovely flower species is also called the Black cosmos in some areas. The chocolate coloured flower smells like coffee and that's why is highly popular among flower and coffee lovers! The dark red or brown shade also makes them look like red velvet cakes. Imagine you enter your garden filled with the scent of coffee and flowers that look like cakes! Sounds yummy, right?

But please don't think to eat them as they are toxic and they could be harmful to you. The flowers are often grown by the gardeners as ornamental plants.

3. Middlemist's Red

Middlemist Red Camellia is considered the rarest flower in the world. You will be surprised to know that there are only two samples all over the world. The first sample is found in a garden of New Zealand and the other one is in a greenhouse in Britain. In springs, tourists and flower lovers can have a view of this rare species at these two places.

The interesting fact is that the flower is called Red Camellia, but they are pink and not red. The blossoms are regarded as a symbol of passion or deep love. As they are only two of them all over the world, it makes them exclusively unique and rare flower species!

4. Juliet rose

The complete honour of introducing this amazing rose species in front of the world goes to the famous rose breeder David Austin. Juliet Rose is a rose hybrid, which was first grown in 2006 by David. It is believed that it took him almost 15 years and about $5 million of investment for this unique creation! Do you guys know that Juliet Rose is ascertained to be the most expensive rose species as it was once sold at the cost of 90 crores?

The amazing colour combination of astonishing warm apricot with a touch of soft peach, makes the flower look more stunning! The flower is viewed as a symbol of classic romance among blossom lovers. However, as much beautiful the flower is, quite handsome its price is, as well.

5. Black Bat Flower

This flower species is considered unique because of its black colour and strange look. The Black bat flower is found in Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, China, Cambodia, Laos and India. As the name suggests, the flower looks like a black bat with long whiskers growing up to 28 inches in length. The uncanny look of the flower is incredibly mysterious and makes it more compelling for all the flower lovers!

The plants are mostly grown because of their large, fancy leaves and unique flower shapes. However, the flowers are very rare in wild and it's not even easy to cultivate them as it requires specific environmental conditions for the plant to grow properly. There are 10 different species of Black Bat flowers but the flower is nowadays considered an endangered species. Interestingly, there are another flower species called White Bat Flower, which looks similar to Black Bat flowers but are white.

I was quite amazed after exploring this rare and wonderful flower species! Crane flower is the common name for Strelitzia Reginae - an exotic flower native to South Africa. The open petals of the blossom in orange and purple or white colour, makes it look like a bird(or specifically a crane). As the flower has a birdie look it is also known as 'Bird of paradise'.

Don't you think it, would be an amazing idea to keep these birds in your garden, it would be like a cherry on the top for your exclusive flower collection? The evergreen species is used as an ornamental plant in America, Australia, the United States, California and Florida. It could be considered as a wonderful fusion of a bird and a flower, being alluring for all the flower and bird lovers! It has been also selected as the Official Flower of the City of Los Angeles.

7. Kadupul Flower

Epiphyllum Oxypetalum is also called with other common names like kadupul flower, Queen of the night, Flower from the heaven, Brahma Kamal in India and Gekka Bijin in Japan. You would be surprised to know that it is the most expensive flower in the world being, priceless!

The Kadupul flower is native to Sri Lanka and found in different regions all around the world. The reason behind being priceless is that it blooms at night and again winds up its petals before the sunrise, so nobody could pluck it out and as cannot be sold, it's priceless. However, if you are among the luckiest person in the world to witness it blooming, it would be quite an amazing experience to have that mesmerising view of the opening of those white and yellow petals. It's also said that in addition to its beauty, the flower has a calming fragrance as well!
