The simplest way to feel the amazing beauty of the world is to explore the trees around us! Trees are the first thing that comes to our mind when we talk about nature. There are so many different varieties, species, colours, shapes and sizes. So, have a look at the 7 most stunning trees around the world:

Rhododendrons are actually no trees but shrubs with a height range of 10 cm to 10 m. The lovely flowers and ample leaves make it look more attractive. These are basically ornamental trees. It’s surprising to know that even though having such a stunning look, they signify ‘danger’, in the language of flowers.

The trees are found in the Himalayas, Southeast Asia and in the mountains of New Guinea. Flowers are funnel or tubular-shaped bloom in white, purple, pink, yellow and blue colours, but not always aromatic. In Nepal, Rhododendrons are declared as the national flower, in the United States, the blossoms have been awarded the title of state flowers and are the provincial flower of Jiangxi, China. It is also the state tree of Sikkim and Uttarakhand in India.

2. Wisteria

There are about 10 different known species of Wisteria. The blossoms vary in blue, white, pink and purple colours and they all look fantastic! The Wisteria plants are found in China, Japan, Korea, Iran, the United States, Germany, France and Europe.

Some species are considered as the most fragrant with sweet smells. They are cultivated generally for ornamental purposes. Wisteria designs were also engraved on tiles and stained glasses in the past.

In Japan, there is a popular dance form known as the ‘Fuji Musume' or the ‘Wisteria Maiden’, where a girl dressed in a Wisteria printed kimono personifies the spirit of Wisteria! In the language of flowers, Wisteria symbolises ‘obsession’ or ‘over passionate love’.

3. Japanese Maple

Japanese Maples are the most expensive trees when compared to other maple trees. The reason behind being costlier is that it needs a lot of energy, investment and time to the grafters to grow a beautiful and healthy Japanese Maple. The trees are grown in Japan, China, Korea, Russia and Mongolia. Exotic leaf shapes and attractive colours make the tree look glorious!

During autumn seasons, leaves are found to change the shades to red, yellow and orange, some maple leaves are even purple in colour. In Japan, Japanese Maple trees are known as ‘kito’ that refers to calm, rest or peace. The trees are believed as a symbol of balance, serenity and practicality.

The Southern live oak trees are found in the southeastern parts of the United States. The sweet acorns produced by the oak trees are a very important food source for many animals like black bears, squirrels, jays, etc. The dense leaves provide a shady spot for many mammals to build their nests. The various parts of the live oak tree were used for medicinal purposes by the people in past. The live oak trees stay green and alive even during winters when others shade off their leaves. Southern oak trees are seen as a symbol of strength in southern parts!

In the city of Grafton located on the north coast of New South Wales, Australia, people celebrate a Jacaranda festival as the town is well known for its Jacaranda trees!

I think Japanese Cherry Blossoms or simply Cherry blossoms are the first love for any tree lover! Even I love them so much that they are on my Instagram page’s profile photo(LOL!).

In Japan, the trees signify renewal or the symbol of spring and are called ‘sakura’ by the natives. Sitting under the cherry blossoms and picnicking is a Japanese tradition followed by the Japanese called ‘hanami’ that means flower viewing.

The late-night viewing of cherry trees is known as ‘yozakura’ and it really looks amazing! Paper lanterns are hung around the trees for illumination. It’s my biggest dream to pack my bags once, move to Japan and enjoy the breathtaking looks of ‘yozakura’!
