28 trillion tons of ice have melted

The power of nature

As creatures living on the earth, every change in the earth's environment greatly affects people's lives. Although human technology has made great progress and achieved qualitative leaps through years of iterations. But compared with the power of nature, the power of human technology is still very small and fragile.

The 28 trillion tons of ice has already melted and the water produced is likely to flood our country 2.9 meters deep, what does our planet want to do?

Glacier melting crisis

I believe that in ordinary life, we are not unfamiliar with the terms "global warming", "greenhouse effect" and "glacier melting". These disasters are happening around us all the time, but most people don't care.

As far as we are concerned, we should live our lives, and the melting glaciers will not flood our doorstep anyway. But is this the case?

According to expert statistics, from 1994 to 2017, nearly 28 trillion tons of ice melted worldwide in 23 years, resulting in an enormous amount of water. If we compare our country to a huge pond, the water caused by the melting glaciers would flood the pond 2.9 meters deep.

But the global glacier melting crisis is far from over, according to statistics, the annual global ice melting volume has soared from 0.8 trillion tons to 1.3 trillion tons. This means that glacial melting is occurring almost all the time in places where we cannot see the glaciers.

Melting glaciers are the equivalent of a "boiling frog" process for us, and their melting raises sea levels by a few millimeters each year. Over time, the global sea level will gradually continue to rise.

The British Climate Commission has estimated that in 2100, the melting of glaciers will cause sea levels to rise by a full 42 centimeters. And in the Earth's Antarctic region, the annual glacial melting problem is not to be underestimated, the Antarctic has gradually become the world's fastest warming region from the original "ice kingdom".

Due to the temperature increase, the Antarctic ice shelf is also suffering great damage, reaching a shrinking area of a staggering 39,717 square kilometers.

In front of the horrible data, we also have to be vigilant. In the future, seawater flooding to the doorstep may no longer be a dream, it will become a reality, and at that time, the human living environment is bound to be greatly damaged by the melting glaciers.

The real purpose of the earth

Every year, glaciers are melting and sea levels are rising. Some people may ask, "Is the melting of glaciers or rising sea levels good for the Earth? Why does the Earth want these disasters to happen and what is the real purpose of the Earth?

Before we can clarify this question, we have to make one thing clear. It is not the Earth that makes the glaciers melt or the sea level rise, but it is man himself who is the culprit of all these disasters.

And the reason why the Earth let these disasters revealed, the main purpose is to warn humans to pay attention to the protection of the environment, but also gradually open their own "self-cleaning function" to maintain the ecological stability of the Earth.

The earth is a closed ecosphere, any ecological changes in any one place will cause other areas to change correspondingly. This also means that the damage we do to the Earth will eventually be returned to us through the Earth's power.

Once the damage to the environment exceeds the capacity of the Earth itself, the Earth is likely to turn on the "reboot" button and start a new round of biological breeding. So, it is not that the Earth needs us, but that we need the Earth.

The impact of glaciers on humans

The reason for the massive melting of the earth's glaciers is naturally related to humans. In the context of the growing greenhouse effect, the melting of glaciers has become an established trend.

The damage that humans have done to nature is being fed back to humans through the recycling system. So what exactly are the impacts of glacial melting on humans?

The first is the change in atmospheric circulation. Since our ice and glaciers have a strong reflection reaction with solar radiation, once the glaciers start to melt on a large scale, our surface radiation and thermal energy will likely be damaged as a result, thus losing their original stability to change the atmospheric circulation activities on earth.

At that time, the global climate system will become extremely unstable, or even a radical change.

Second, sea level rise. This is the most obvious effect of glacial melting, which will cause sea level rise. Once the sea level rises, the continent will likely be submerged.

Tuvalu was the first country to be inundated by seawater because of rising sea levels. If we do not deal with the glacier problem, more and more countries will be extensively submerged by seawater and face the threat of extinction.

Finally, extreme disasters occur. Glacial melting is itself a kind of ecosystem imbalance, and if it continues to increase, extreme disasters will occur more and more frequently on Earth. At that time, not only will polar bears and other creatures lose their homes, but we may not survive the threat of extreme disasters.

As the only living creature on Earth, we must protect the planet and it is the only way we can protect our home. The melting of the glaciers is undoubtedly a wake-up call to humans to protect the Earth, and the real purpose of Mother Earth is just to make humans wake up from it and initiate protection of the Earth.
