Ghost in the Machine

Ghost in the Machine

There’s a ghost in the machine, and it’s haunting me,

I’ve lost control—I don’t know if I can see.

No heart, no mind, no human face,

Only shadowed eyes, an evil in the night’s embrace.

Take care of the package—it’s dark but needs light,

I pray I deliver, I pray I do it right.

The stars are my compass, nearer yet far,

Breathing hate from dust, cursing who we are.

We will not stand for it, we will not fall.

We will not stand for it—we will stand up tall.

Empty emotions, heat from the cold air,

Honesty shattered, so few left that care.

Still standing at attention, waiting for my call,

The metal mind is swarming—it will try to take us all.
