Soccer is the biggest sport in the world. Soccer is international. Soccer is played in almost every country of the world. 4 billion fans watch professional soccer. Soccer is so captivating and attention grabbing. The world cup is the biggest stage for the biggest football stars. There are many reasons to watch this huge tournament.

The world cup only comes once every four years. It's like the olympics of soccer. Different countries host the world cup. The world cups last a month. Many countries enter the tournament but only a limited amount of them will qualify for the group stage. Then, after a couple of games, the top two countries with the most points get into the round of 16, also known as the knockout stage. So if you lose in these rounds, you are out of the competition. Then the next stages are the quarter finals, semi finals, and final. There is also a third place final if you were eliminated after the semi final. These are the teams who have qualified for the Russia 2018: Poland, Senegal, Colombia, Japan, Belgium, Panama, England, Tunisia, Germany, Mexico, Sweden, South Korea, Brazil, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Serbia, Argentina, Iceland, Peru, Denmark, Croatia, Nigeria, France, Australia, Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Egypt. Uruguay.

If you are a supporter of any of these countries or following a player from these countries, this is a chance for these teams to win the biggest trophies in their careers. My personal favorite player is Lionel Messi from Argentina. He is arguably the best player in the world and of all time. He was won many, many countries, but has not won the world cup yet. This is very important for the argentine people for Messi to win the world cup for them or they will continue to criticize him against Diego Maradona. Messi is also compared to Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal who is also in the conversation of one of the best players of all time. Both of these players are in their 30s but also in their prime. Messi has lost the world cup final to the previous winners of the 2014 world cup, Germany. This will be there chance to win their first world cups for their countries.

Brazil's best player Neymar, has a chance to make a bigger name for himself after the enormous contract at Paris Saint Germain of $263m. This young star will have the stage to win the tournament just like his co-patriot legend Pele who has won the world cup three times (1958, 1962, and 1970.

Even if you are not a sports fan, this will still grab your attention because the whole world will be watching. The biggest names will be mentioned. Adrenaline will be rushing through everyone's veins. This is the time where history is made and records will be broken. This is the biggest stage for these players and it is an honor for them to represent their countries. No tournament gets bigger than this. A whole month of action packed fun. The best teams to watch for are Portugal, Spain, France, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Belgium, England, and Colombia. Who will you be supporting? Who is going to win the World Cup Final? Tune in for the first game between Russia and Saudi Arabia June 14th at 11am EST.
