More than a million football fans and 32 of the world's top football teams aren't the only things traveling to Qatar this month. The Gulf country has announced a frenzy of events and activities to offer visitors and nationals more than just football, and some of the most well-known entertainment figures in the world are already on their way there.

Approximately five billion people, or more than half of the world's population, are anticipated to watch FIFA World Cup games in Qatar later this month. Qatar is determined to put up a spectacle for the world to see.

In the twelve years after Qatar was given the right to host the 2022 World Cup, dozens of hotel and entertainment complexes have been constructed. The package includes new amusement centers, beaches, resorts, museums, and restaurants.

Recently, Qatar loosened COVID travel requirements for foreigners attending the World Cup, and starting on December 2, when the group stage concludes, spectators will be granted free admission. Here, we list the top six tourist sites in Qatar as it prepares to host the first-ever World Cup. These tips will help you plan your trip to this oil-rich nation.

While the World Cup is going, no fewer than three music festivals are taking place simultaneously. Acts like Black Eyed Peas and Armin van Buuren will be available for fans to enjoy. On Friday, Enrique Iglesias performed at the Doha Golf Club, and Black Eyed Peas are scheduled to perform there on Sunday.

The three legendary stages of the Arcadia Festival, which runs from November 19 to December 19, will draw more than 100 international performers the day after the World Cup final.

A 50-ton fire-breathing spider and the Reactor stage set are featured at the event. In the meantime, Daydream Festival is taking over the renowned Doha Golf Club and featuring electronic performers like Tiesto, Alesso, ATB, and Paul van Dyk.

The renowned Museum of Islamic Art in Qatar reopened to visitors last month. The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum was one of the many new attractions that opened to the public in 2022.

To watch the World Cup, more than 1.2 million spectators are anticipated to travel to Qatar. There have been close to 2.9 million ticket sales.

Fans traveling to Qatar have access to apartments, hotel rooms, desert camps, villas, fan communities, and even berths aboard moored cruise ships. Some football fans will choose to remain in the UAE, Oman, or Iran and take "shuttle" flights in to watch the game before departing without spending the night in Qatar.

With 151,000 visitors arriving in September alone, the nation has reported a surge in foreign arrivals that is currently at a five-year high. According to the Qatar Tourism Authority, arrivals from neighboring Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries made up 44% of all international arrivals, with Saudi Arabia accounting for almost 30% of the total data.

During the World Cup, "Qatar will host a huge array of cultural and entertainment choices for the whole family," according to host organizers Qatar 2022.

"The nationwide festival will feature more than 90 special events scheduled to run concurrently with the competition... Match viewing locations, music festivals, cultural exhibits, and street entertainment would all be part of the big festivities, it stated.

Doha's Corniche, a 6 km (3.7 mi) length of road along the water, has been pedestrianized since the beginning of November and will feature roaming performances, cultural events, food and beverage vendors, and retail establishments.

Given the statistics, it is anticipated that Qatar will send out tens of thousands of security personnel to guarantee a smooth World Cup.

Numerous security cooperation agreements have been negotiated by the host nation with a number of nations, including Morocco, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and NATO.
