Tottenham's second 3-goal EPL defeat of season

Another poor performance by Tottenham as the club records another premier league loss after a 3-0 defeat by champions league winners Chelsea.

Tottenham hotspurs has recorded it second consecutive premier league defeat after a 3:0 loss against Chelsea FC at the Tottenham's White Hart lane stadium.

Although the first half of the game ended with a goalless draw. And just four minutes into the second half of the game, Chelsea successfully broke the goalless deadlock as Thiago Silva headed Marcos Alonso's corner beyond Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

As Thomas Tuchel introduced the French midfielder N'golo Kante to replace England’s Mason Mount at the second half, the game was turned around while Tottenham was still struggling to gain balance.

After which N’golo Kante scored as he took a long range shot which was deflected by Eric Dier before hitting the net and Antonio Rudiger scored as Timo wierner gave him the assist at the stoppage time of the game, giving Chelsea a 3:0 lead as the final whistle was blown.

According Roy Maurice Keane an Irish football manager and former professional player."I couldn't believe how bad Spurs were. You can have an off day and sometimes you lose to quality but there was a lack of desire from Spurs for the second and the third goals," said Keane.

"I'm pretty angry from watching Spurs today. The difference in desire and wanting to win a football match we see with the second goal. Chelsea won the ball back and Tottenham didn't do the basics. I'm talking about closing players down and putting your body on the line.

Remarks by club’s managers

Tottenham head coach Nuno Espirito Santo: "There were a lot of things that went wrong. Let's start with the first half - I think it was a good game, competitive. We were on the front foot, started pressing high, creating problems and had chances.

"In the second half, the set-piece and goal changes the game. Then it becomes much harder, the game totally changed and Chelsea took control and were the better team in the second half.

"It's difficult, but I'm proud of the first half and of all the game because we had troubles in the team and the players went to their limits."

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel: "I was absolutely not happy with the first 45 minutes. There were individual performances which were great in the first half from Kepa and Thiago Silva. More players were good but in general we lacked intent, energy and relentless in duels and 50-50 balls.

"I had the feeling we wanted to impress by pure skills but in derbies like this it is not always about just skills. It is about aggression, winning duels and performing better as a team.

"We spoke clearly about it at half-time. In the second half it was a very good performance and a deserved win. It was a very good reaction so I am happy with the performance in the second half."

Tuchelalso commended the impact of Kante saying “Top player, if you have N’Golo you have something everyone is looking for,” Tuchel said. “You have everything you need in midfield, you have work rate, intensity, ball wins, skilful play, dribbles, half-field drives and even a goal.

“I see this every day in training and it is hard to believe how good he is. He is a unique guy, there are no more words from me. N’Golo is N’Golo, he is fantastic.”

However, Chelsea’s victory over spur’s has shown their serious tittle ambition and has given Thomas Tuchel’s side 3 points as they move to the top of the table above Liverpool and United as the three teams all have 13 points so far. Tottenham on the other hand, has recorded the second 3-goals defeat of the season following their loss against crystal palace.
