He made his professional debut for the club in 2004, and soon established himself as one of the most promising strikers in Europe.

Early Life and Career:

Karim Benzema was born to Algerian parents in Lyon, France. He grew up in the city's tough Bron neighborhood, where he learned to play football on the streets.

Breakout Season at Real Madrid:

In 2009, Benzema signed for Real Madrid for a transfer fee of €35 million. He struggled to make an impact in his first season at the club, scoring only eight goals in 33 appearances.

However, he bounced back in his second season, scoring 26 goals in 48 appearances and helping Real Madrid win the Copa del Rey.

Benzema's breakout season at Real Madrid came in the 2011-12 campaign, when he scored 32 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions. He formed a deadly attacking partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain, known as the "BBC," which helped Real Madrid win the La Liga title.

Since then, Benzema has been a key player for Real Madrid, helping the club win numerous titles, including four UEFA Champions League titles. He has also established himself as one of the greatest strikers in the history of the club, scoring over 200 goals in all competitions.

International Career:

Benzema made his international debut for France in 2007, and has since gone on to make over 80 appearances for his country. He was a key player for France at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, scoring three goals in the tournament.

However, Benzema's international career has not been without controversy. He was suspended from the national team in 2015, after being charged with blackmailing fellow French player Mathieu Valbuena.
