Slightly older than the previous players covered on 'Scouting', Joan Jordan is 25 years of age and currently playing for Sevilla having transferred from Eibar in the summer of 2019 for a reported fee of £10m. Since Jordan's introduction to the spanish side, it's fair to say he's been a mainstay. He's clocked up over 1,500 league minutes in the centre of Sevilla's midfield, alongside 6 appearances in the Europa League. Let's see what makes him their midfield metronome.

Joan's best asset is his passing and vision. Averaging a pass completion percentage of of 87.2 of an average 49.3 passes per league game is pretty astounding, so to see his average number of passes increase to a mammoth 78, completing 91.9% of them during Europa League action is absolutely absurd. This has helped boost Sevilla to top of their group in the Europa League, with 5 wins from 6, as well as 3rd in La Liga. Ridiculous numbers from a £13m acquisition. May it also be noted that Jordan is completing 5.1 long balls per La Liga match, lowering to 3.8 in the Europa League but this could be due to Sevilla's dominance over the smaller sides in their group.

All of this is done, yet Joan also manages 1.2 key passes per league match, rising to 1.5 in the Europa League, creating from deep very effectively. So much so that Joan's key passes in La Liga are only 0.1 lower than that of Real Madrid's Luka Modric. Only 2 goals and 2 assists in the 1,540 league minutes Joan's acquired equates to a goal contribution every 385 minutes, not necessarily anything to shout about, but Joan bases his game more defensively, managing 1.5 tackles and 1.3 interceptions in european competition, whilst tackles increase to 1.8 in the league, his interceptions drop to 0.7. Mopping up in front of his back four.

2.2 shots per Europa League match equates to just over 16% of Sevilla's shots, not bad from a midfielder although it is fair to speculate that a fair amount of these are probably from outside of the box. He also manages 1.1 dribbles per league match, rising to 1.7 in the Europa League. Disgusting from the former Eibar man.

With West Ham showing interest before Sevilla swooped in and purchased the Eibar man, he wouldn't be the worst purchase for The Hammers, given Manchester United and Chelsea's interest in Declan Rice and Mark Noble turning 33, the London side could do a lot worse than the progressive spaniard. And with a current value of around £11m, he wouldn't cost a war chest. Although he'd be battling for relegation rather than a european trophy.

On the other hand, a transfer to a Borussia Monchengladbach should Denis Zakaria leave could be very very interesting. A proficient spaniard in the Bundesliga, similar to the role Thiago plays for Bayern. He'd still be challenging for european football and playing under one of the most exciting managers currently in world football in Marco Rose. With Marcus Thuram and Alassane Plea infront of him, Joan could really prosper in Die Fohlen's midfield.

Another Premier League that could use Jordan's services is Wolves. With Joao Moutinho now 34 years of age, Joan would slot into the midlands clubs exactly in Moutinho's position and would allow Neves to push up the pitch and cause damage to Premier League opposition. Moutinho and Jordan are very much in the same mould of midfielder, defensively minded progressive midfielders. The club from the Black Country would definitely benefit from Jordan slotting into their midfield.

Staying with Sevilla and challenging at the upper echelons of La Liga whilst participating in european competition is definitely on the cards for the spaniard. He's in comfortable surroundings and performing at the highest level.

Regardless of where he plays his football, he's one to keep an eye on.
