With a superb save from De Gea at the stoppage time of the game, Manchester United was able to secure a dramatic win over Westham united to keep them at the top 4 of the premier league table

The 147th meeting between the clubs became favorable to the red devil’s as the deadlock on the scoreboard was broken at the 30th minute of the game after WestHam's Said Benrahma scored from a shot with the right foot which was deflected into the net by Varane past De Gea to hit the net. Five minutes after the first goal, Cristiano Ronaldo scored an equalizer which was reviewed by VAR and the referee decided that the goal for Manchester United stands, thereby ending the first half with a 1:1 draw

Four minutes into the second half, Bruno Fernandes carves the opponent's defense open with a killer through-ball giving Cristiano Ronaldo a great chance to score, but his effort was turned behind by Lukasz Fabianski as the goalkeeper pulled up a great save-to-keep the score line level. Irrespective of the pressure mounted by the Red Devils, the West Ham defense was stood firm

In the 72nd minute of the game, Ole Gunner introduces Jadon Sancho and Jesse Lingard to replace Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood. Recall that Lingard played six months for West Ham last season on a loan deal, however, Lingard received applause from the home fans. With time running out, the both team continued to hit each other on counter attacks

In the 89th minute, Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic cuts the opponents defense open with a through ball and Lingard scored a goal, giving united a lead over the home team.

A penalty was awarded to the home team and Noble was tactically brought in from the bench to replace Jarrod Bowen and also take the penalty kick.

However, De Gea stopped West Ham from claiming 1-point in d the game with a diving save which helping the Red devil’s seal their 3-points at the London stadium.

Ole Gunnar’s was happy with his club’s performance as he gave his verdict after the match. According to him “Very happy with the performances – 11 corners, a few big chances that we missed. First 10-15 minutes of the second half I thought we pressed them really well, made them give the ball away five or six times in their own box more or less, and it's one of them, we can't get a counter-attack every time we have a corner. There was a few having to sprint back a couple of times.” “We have to work better defensively, no doubt. In the first half, we were too easy to play through. We will work on it because there is no respite when you play football. I’ve spoken about how you can’t take rests when you defend. We dropped into a back six [for the goal] and there were too many spaces. We were too late to charge the ball. We’ve already sorted that and spoke about that at half-time. It was better in the second half and a great response, that was a big thing for me – how do you react when you go 1-0 down? It was a very, very good five minutes for us.”
