After wins against West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton and Leicester City, Liverpool are actually off to the best start they've ever had to a Premier League season, much to the shock to many football fans around the world. The 2018/2019 season got off to a flyer for Liverpool, with a 4-0 routing of West Ham, before being followed with a 2-0 away win at Selhurst Park. A 1-0 win at home against Brighton, thanks to a Mohammed Salah goal, proceeded the record-securing game, a 2-1 win against Leicester City.

Liverpool 4, West Ham 0 - Sunday, August 12, 2018

Liverpool's season began with a short and sharp bang. A 4-0 routing of what pundits called a 'resurgent' West Ham, after their captures of class talents such as Felipe Anderson, Jack Wilshere and the young but talented Issa Diop from a struggling Toulouse in Ligue 1. A Sadio Mane brace followed an 18th minute Mohammed Salah goal, before Daniel Sturridge added gloss to the scoreline in the 88th minute. A very convincing win over Manuel Pellegrini's side.

Crystal Palace 0, Liverpool 2 - Monday, August 20, 2018

Following on from the humiliation of West Ham, Liverpool travelled to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace. James Milner remained reliable from the spot on the brink of half-time, sending Palace to the tunnels 0-1 down. A red card from new-signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the 75th minute meant the London side were down to 10 men for the final 15 minutes, before Sadio Mane proceeded to continue his good form and score in the 93rd minute, making it three goals in two games for the Senegalese speedster.

Liverpool 1, Brighton 0 - Saturday, August 25, 2018

A chance to make it three wins from three, Liverpool faced Brighton at home. Roberto Firmino did what he's become oh-so-famous for and provided the assist for Mohammed Salah to slot the ball in the back of the net, leaving the hosts 1-0 up at half-time. A slightly more boring second-half performance followed, in which no goals were scored, in fact barely any action was seen, however a third clean sheet in three games for new-signing Alisson Becker made the £65 million price tag seem viable.

Leicester City 1, Liverpool 2 - Saturday, September 1, 2018

A trip to the King Power Stadium was then to determine Liverpool's best start to a Premier League Season. Liverpool went in 2-0 up at the break, complimentary to yet another Sadio Mane goal and Roberto Firmino popping up on the brink of half-time. After Jamie Vardy's red card against Wolves, it was up to Kelechi Iheanacho to lead the line. He must've done his homework as he pressured Alisson into giving the ball away, before crossing the ball to new-signing James Maddison, before Rachid Ghezzal slotted into an empty net. None-the-less, Liverpool won and secured top of the table going in to the international break, along with a record start to a Premier League season.
