Princess Buttoru took a glass of wine which the maid had poured out for them, and gave it to the magician. She took another glass at the same time, and then she drank it to him, wishing him a long life. The magician quickly blessed her to be young and beautiful and happy forever, and emptied the glass at one draught. He did not know that from now on he was unwittingly caught in the net that Aladdin and the Princess had thrown open for him. The sorcerer fondly thought that the princess Badinu Budoru was completely subservient to him, and was very pleased. While he was ogling the princess with his eyes, he was drinking so much that he forgot almost everything else in the world.

Princess Badinu Butoru ate and drank with the magician all the time, and when she saw that he was a little drunk, she said to him: "There is a custom where I come from. I wonder if it is the same here?"

'Oh, what customs?

"When two lovers drink wine, to show their love, they should exchange wine glasses and each drink a cup. This is called cross wine, even if the two parties have committed to life."

Then the princess took the magician's goblet, filled it before her, and gave it to the maid to fill it with a glass of intoxicant and give it to the magician, as she had arranged. Princess Buteru rose from her seat, took the magician by the hand, and said delicately, "My dear, this is the cup from which you drank, and that is the cup from which I drank. Now let us exchange a cup of wine."

'she said, and drank her glass.

The magician, fascinated by the sweet words and deeds of the princess, gladly copied the manner of the princess, raised his goblet, and ate at once. As soon as he drank the wine, he became dizzy and fell heavily on the ground in a coma.

At once the maids ran downstairs, opened the side door, and let their master, Aladdin, in.

Aladdin ran up the stairs and found Princess Badinu Budoru sitting at the table, having put the African magician to sleep. He ran up to her and took her in his arms. He hugged her and kissed her. Then he said to her:

A long time ago, there was an old fisherman who lived by fishing every day. In addition to his wife, the old fisherman's family had three children, all of whom depended on him for support. Therefore, the family was very poor and had a difficult life. Although he made his living as a fisherman, he had a strange habit of catching only four nets a day, never more than one.

One day at noon, the old fisherman came to the beach. He put down his fish cage, rolled up his sleeves, and went into the water to arrange himself. Then he cast his net in the sea. The net was so heavy that no matter how hard he tried, he could not pull it up. So he went back to the bank, laid a stake on the bank, tied his net to it, took off his clothes, dived to the bottom of the sea, and at last pulled in his net with all his might. Then he went back to the shore happily, dressed himself, and looked into the net. But there was only one dead donkey in the net, and the dead donkey had broken the net.

Seeing this, he was dismayed and sighed, "There is nothing to be done but Allah the Almighty for salvation. What a strange thing to net up!" So he sang:

"Night! Those who run on the brink of death,

Don't overwork yourself.

Food and clothing are not earned by labor alone.

Don't you see,

Beneath the sea and sky, illuminated by the stars,

The fisherman stood on the seashore,

Gaze at the head of the net

The waves wash over him?
