The original FC Barcelona jersey, released in 1899, is straightforward, with stripes and a standard collar. The sleeves and main body have four broad, alternating blue and claret stripes. CarlesComamala, a great goal scorer, is one of the early candidates to succeed Barcelona founder Gamper when he retires.

In the 1920s, Barcelona adds a tie closure to the neck of the jersey, which was worn by players such as Ramon TorralbaLarraz, a 14-season great. The alternating stripes on the sleeves and body are much more prominent than in previous models. Despite a few alterations, the stripes on the main section of the shirt are still the same today.

1925: The standard collars are replaced with a tiny crew neck design, which eliminates the tie closures, which do not appear again on the FC Barcelona Jersey.

1969: For decades, hundreds of players, and numerous seasons, the crew neck collar will be a feature on blue and claret jerseys. In the late 1960s, the traditional collar makes a comeback, and one player, Francisco Fernández "Gallego," proudly wears it for 11 seasons with Barcelona Jersey.

1982: Standard collars are still utilized in kits from the 1980s. Javier González Urruticoechea, a significant player in the 1984-1985 season, is one player who not only wears the shirt but also gets fans' affection for his charm and heroic save, which seals Barcelona's league title with four games remaining.

Around the turn of the century, a flashback to the past occurs, with two strong stripes on the main body (one of each shade) and solid dark blue sleeves. Despite not being a straight striker, VitorBorbaFerreira’s "Rivaldo" plays and scores throughout this wardrobe change.

2002: The garments are slimmer with smaller stripes and a brighter crimson than the previous claret. This, however, does not last. In 2007, the Barcelona Jersey returns to a deeper reddish-purple. Samuel Eto'o plays with Barcelona and wears the brighter red shirt. He was the league's top scorer in 2004-2005.

In 2013, Barcelona's shirt features a single red stripe down the middle and blue sleeves. Lionel Messi appears in another jersey design in 2015, this time with a little color scheme reversal from the original blue and claret.

2016: The jersey resembles previous iterations, with the traditional blue stripe encircled by reds, then lined with blue sides and sleeves.

REAL MADRID JERSEY KIT 22-23 VS FC BARCELONA JERSEY 21-22

First and foremost, it is clear that both kits have one major feature: they both employ a mild shade of purple as their primary hue.

Aside from the same primary color, there are other distinctions, such as accent color (black - Real Madrid; blue/red/iridescent - FC Barcelona Jersey). Furthermore, FC Barcelona's 21-22 away jersey has no graphic design, whilst Real Madrid's new 2022-2023 away jersey does.

Overall, it has to be claimed that Real Madrid releasing a mostly purple-away shirt exactly one year after their main rivals would be a massive coincidence, but apart from sharing the same primary hue, the variances could not be more dramatic.

According to Real Madrid's official press release, "the shirt also has a stunning pattern, reminiscent of those seen on Adidas jerseys during the 1990s."

Looking back into Real Madrid's changing Barcelona Jersey history throughout the 1990s reveals that the club did, in fact, have purple away shirts during this era, although they were all manufactured by the Spanish business Kelme.

Kelme Purple During the 1990s, Real Madrid's uniforms changed. Adidas has already produced two purple away kits and one purple goalkeeper shirt for Real Madrid Barcelona Jersey, although all of those jerseys were produced in the 2010s.
