Where I've Been..
A Short blog about what our summer has been like

It's been a heck of a long minute since I updated you guys on where I've been and how our new life in Cudahy is going. First, I'd like to start by saying I got a kitten at the beginning of May, he's grown about "yay big" since we met in the Long Beach shelter that faithful Saturday. Got to pick him up on Tuesday following that Saturday. I couldn't decide on a name right away, he came with one: Kai, which means from the Ocean, very sweet but kind of scary given everything I had went through mentally, we wanted to give him the best name possible so we chose Bandit - and it stuck for about a week before we gave him the name Gizmo. One of my middles thought of the Fuggler creatures from that Furby movie, 'The Gremlins'. But one of my littles thought of 'The Little Mermaid' so it stuck - for about a month.
So we're sitting in front of the TV in the Kitchen watching Steven Universe with our friend Anjyeli and one of my male alters Ryan, turned to Anjyeli and said "Oh my God, I could have named him Cookie Cat!" because Ryan has since integrated I don't fully remember what happened next but Anjyeli thought it was a cute idea and with a little coaxing from one of our Elder Caretakers we convinced Rose that the kitten's name should be Cookie. That was towards mid-June.
Anjyeli kind of dropped off the face of the Earth and broke Chester's heart (who had also integrated a few weeks back, in a very scary way I just don't think about them anymore - we also don't integrate a lot so it's something I'm not very used to). But in that month of July, we kind of made friends with a new girl named Susanna, it's been difficult for me as a new integrated system to really connect with people long term. I'm fairly out of practice, I haven't been at school now in almost three years, relying on online classes to stay up-to-date with my studies.
We're going back to school in late August early September and some of the new names like You, Erin, and Sam are excited to get to know Amanda in "rough stuff". We're taking a few classes that we had heard of way back in the late '10's before the world around Amanda closed itself off to keep everyone safe from the Pandemic in 2020.
We stopped reading those Twisted Tales books because we wanted to write a short story instead.
We, have not started yet.
Some of my littles and middles are homesick and it takes a toll on the body. But we took a mini vacation and went back home on Friday night after Amanda's appointment at UCLA. We're doing better about talking about what happens internally and how the medications are helping but Amanda still isn't there yet. We're not perfect, but we're geting there. Started seeing a new therapist through Life Stance, some of us don't think it's helping much. So we told the doctor on Friday about seeing a new therapist through UCLA and we may be heard as early as next month if everything goes sideways like I'm used to.
Got into a new game called Sky: Children of the Light, and went to a small event at the beginning of August (2 weeks ago) with Amanda, Michael, Jake, Roxy, and Eric's friend Cassie (who got us hooked to the game) and we had a blast. Well, Ayumi had, we kind of gave the body a moment in silence and observed Ayumi as she ventured through the small crowded venue in Los Angeles County.
We don't do crowds well, but the system didn't have a panic attack like some of us are accustomed to. Loki kind of went quiet, we're thinking she's going dormant after the events that transpired around her during when we were studying each other gently and openly after Amanda got raped in 2018.
Got to finish Dear Van Gogh in Sky and now we spend our free time collecting candle light and furniture for our nest. That and we still paint and draw a little each week.
So yeah, that's pretty much what my summer in the new apartment has been like. It's really hot in it, we did get an AC as a gift from our mom when we started talking about how hot it got at night and we're fine but Cookie, yeah. We worry about his comfort in the apartment too. So much so, that we brought him with us this past Friday on our mini vacation to our mom's.
He stressed the whole time he was there and kept staring up at the ceiling fan because that ceiling isn't his ceiling and he very much so missed his projector lights that my space astronaut projects on the ceiling each night.
All-in-all, pretty boring here but active none-the-less.
We strongly look forward to going to school next semester and we appreciate all of you for reading.
