The Shattered Oath Part 5
The shattered remnants of the altar still pulsed with the echoes of what had transpired. Elira sagged in Vaelin’s arms, her breath shallow, her skin ice-cold. Her eyes flickered with traces of the Veil’s lingering energy, a storm of power barely contained within her mortal form. The chamber was eerily silent now, the survivors of both the Oathsworn and the Vowbound stirring amid the rubble. But something was wrong—Vaelin could feel it. The air was too still, the shadows too deep.

1/0: Entries from the End Times
10/Pig I have shoved <participant id = 0> onto his side, so he won’t choke on his puke, though I do want to choke him for ruining my dinner. I had to throw it away because he sprayed a bunch of broken glass into it upon his intrusion. He seemed to be having a seizure. He accidentally slapped me when I placed couch cushions under his head. Additionally, he kicked me between the legs. Though I do not possess testes, and I suspect the pain I felt is a fraction of what I would’ve experienced if I did have one, the sun did in fact go down on my indignation. I’ve dimmed the lights, draped cool towels on his neck, and draped more towels over the tainted carpet. He has settled down. His heartbeat remains abnormal.

What's in a Reading Experience ?
When I talk about ‘reading experiences’ I’m not just talking about the way in which we experience literature when reading it. A ‘reading experience’ also refers to the fact that some books stay with us. We may remember the experience of reading it at the time and then, as if taken back in time, relive that experience or at least, wish to relive it. A reading experience therefore becomes more important the more we seek to remember it. If you’ve ever heard someone say ‘if I could read any book for the first time again, it would be that one.’ That is the person attempting to relive the experience of reading it through the memory of the reading experience. Therefore, they are still experiencing reading. I know this may sound nonsensical and some people may think it is a bit silly, but I think these are the most important books in your life. They don’t even have to be your favourite books ever. They are just books where the experience of reading them seems to constantly come back to you because they may have changed something about you, they may have challenged your beliefs on something or - they may have immersed you so much that reality didn’t quite cut it anymore. There are thousands of reasons we do this and I’d like to share a couple of recent ones of my own with you. These are reading experiences from the last decade where I have not quite managed to get away. I won't be going through all of them because that will make the article too long. But I've chosen a few to go through, specifically because they are not my favourite books ever and yet still managed to stick in my mind. Some Great Reading Experiences from the Last Decade 1. Rekha was 24 years old now, but her story began years earlier, when she was still a wide-eyed student in class 12. At that time, her world was small, confined to the walls of her school and the even stricter boundaries of her home. It was through a handful of school friends—whispering secrets between classes—that she first stumbled upon erotic portals, sites brimming with tales that set her curiosity ablaze. What started as a fleeting peek soon became a nightly ritual. Before the hush of sleep claimed her, Rekha would lose herself in those stories, her phone glowing softly beneath the covers.
