Mirror
Simple Self-Love Mirror Spell
The Purpose: To boost self-love for yourself.
What you need:
A mirror (bathroom mirror or any mirror you regularly use)
A washable marker, lipstick, or just a steamy mirror
Holding a bright red lipstick with the lid removed, Jay stood in front of the glass and took three deep breaths that momentarily calmed the anxiety she felt when looking at her reflection. She closed her eyes which helped repress the self-judgement a little.
“I love and accept myself fully. I love and accept myself fully.”
Trying to remove the negative thoughts was an ongoing battle for Jay. They would pop up without warning and could floor her physically as well as mentally. Small ones that had always been there, like ‘Why is your hair so thin?’ could be dealt with, but the large ones intruded more and more regularly now. ‘Why are you so damn ugly? What are you doing leaving the house? You’ll make people sick. How dare you?’
“I love and accept myself fully. I love and accept myself fully.”
Struggling Jay opened her eyes and forced herself to smile at her reflection. She lifted the lipstick and drew a red heart outline around the image of her face.
“Embraced by love, both in and out, my worth and value I don’t doubt.Embraced by love, both in and out, my worth and value I don’t doubt.”
Jay reached out and placed her right hand on the mirror just inside the heart. She leaned forward and as her fingertips made contact with the cool glass, a visible ripple spread across the mirror's surface. Jay gasped, snatching her hand back, but it was too late. The heart began to glow, pulsing with an inner light. The reflection of her face, still framed by the red outline, began to change. Her eyes, in the mirror, widened with terror and a silent scream stretched the reflection's mouth, and then, with a sickening lurch, Jay felt a powerful suction. The mirror was breathing, drawing her in with an invisible force.
She stumbled forward. The light from the heart grew blinding, forming a tunnel of pure, brilliant white. Jay felt her body stretch, her limbs elongating, panic surged,a cold wave washing over her as she realised what was happening. The mirror wasn't just reflecting her anymore; it was consuming her.
With a final, desperate gasp, Jay felt herself slip entirely into the glowing portal. The last thing she saw was her own horrified reflection, now perfectly clear and still, staring back from the mirror's surface, a faint, unsettling smile playing on its lips. The red lipstick heart remained, a vibrant scarlet against the otherwise unblemished glass. Jay was gone.
