Living a historic, National Geographic life.
I’m a member of the lucky sperm club.(all I had to do was be conceived).

I have led a wonderful life. I was born into the British empire, (the biggest, most powerful and influential empire in the world), in the most fabulous country in Africa (Southern Rhodesia) the gem of Africa. I lived in KwaZuluNatal, South Africa, on the South Coast, from Durban, Amanzimtoti to Port Shepstone and St. Michaels, surfed, life guarded, experienced Apartheid, sailed the seas on a giant container ship as a trainee deck officer, fought in a proxy war against the Soviet Union and China during the Rhodesian bush war or civil war, lived amongst National Geographic tribes like the Zulu,

the Ndebele of South Africa and Rhodesia, the Batonka in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe, met the San tribe (bushman) the first people of Africa (the oldest surviving hunter gatherers). Then emigrated to U.S.A. - the only super power in the world after winning the Cold War, married the fabulous, sweet, beautiful, Californian hippie chick Jme who changed my life forever ( my green card wife, a story for another day),

settled in California, probably the best state in the Union for its weather, climate, varied scenery, beaches, mountains, culture, studied, law, passed the California bar, became a trial attorney, then retired from that career, joined my wife’s bead business, traveled the world with her, had some health challenges, but she stayed with me through the bad times, and I’m still kicking!

Not only did I live amongst iconic tribal people in Africa, but here in America I met, did business with, become friends with some of the most iconic tribal people on this North American continent….Apache, Navajo, Cherokee, Comanche, Maidu, Miwok, Blackfoot, Ute and many others.

I live amongst the Maidu and Miwok, small Northern Californian tribes. And did I mention that not only did I settle in California, but Northern California, in the Sierra Nevada mountains - the best part of California. And it is in the historic gold country. And yes, there is still gold in these hills.
