Eid-AL Adha

Eid al-Adha, the second of two great Muslim festivals, the other being Eid al-Fitr.

also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice," is one of the most significant Islamic holidays. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (As)to sacrifice his son Isma'il (As) as an act of obedience to Allah. Before he could sacrifice his son, Allah provided a ram to sacrifice instead.

Eid al-Adha occurs on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic lunar calendar, following the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. It involves special prayers, communal meals, and the ritual sacrifice of an animal (usually a sheep, goat, cow, or camel), with the meat distributed among family, friends, and those in need.
