Definition of Love

By Katherine Aguilar

The definition of love has been taken so far from the norm and the biblical sense that it is ridiculous. People are in love with the word love. The love goes beyond the physical. Most people think love is physical attraction, but it goes deeper than that. Recognizing this can inspire hope for a more meaningful understanding of love.

Respect plays a part in love. Listening is a huge factor. Many marriages have fallen apart over the ages because of a lack of love, or many stay together because they do not, or are afraid of being alone, for they will not find that love. They would rather have someone than no one at all. This is a fool's love. People have love or people. Wanting people to love them all the time so they can feed off the love people have for them, for they do not have love for themselves. It is as if they are eating the energy of love. Once they get all they need from move one, they go to the next group to make and get some friends to feed off their love. Eventually, they will learn to love themselves. When they no longer need to be fed by others, they will then actually share love with others instead of taking it. This understanding can bring feelings of reassurance and hope.

People are in love with money. It is the root of many people's downfall. There are millionaires and billionaires all over the world, still chasing the love of money and striving to be the richest. Only to find out they are one of the emptiest groups of people. For they love money, they love people, but do truly love money. Or are they just empty shells of people walking this earth, holding on or searching for the love they once had as a child, or a love they can never get back? Hoping one day they find that same love again. Then the journey begins with looking for love—feelings of longing and introspection about true fulfillment.

Start by looking in the mirror, love yourself? Do not carry anger or pain with you if you feel your mother or father didn't care for you. Because of adoption, they died, or were even mistreated. You were thought of before you were conceived. You can know for sure you were loved for nine months in your mother's stomach, and she carried you for a time. Do not ever think you were never loved because you were. May have things gotten sidetracked for some. You have not been stopped from loving. If you wish someone would hug you, and no one is around, reach your arms around yourself. Look to the Heavens, says. Thank you for your hug today. You will feel His hug.

Love of control. Many of these people love to be in control. What a society there is of controlling people. They didn’t know if they had played the game of control long enough to win. In the end, they grow tired and frustrated. Annoyed at the next person questioning if they will ever get it. Finding out that the person has been in control all along.

When someone goes above and beyond for someone and takes on something they do not understand, it's really for one to understand, for them to give, and for an opportunity for a person to truly love.

Many parents love their children enough to let them grow, learn, and spread their wings. Some parents love the idea of having a baby but never want the responsibility. Spouses who have been married for eighty years sit and talk with them. And they will tell you the same as I have told you.

May preachers have given an incomplete definition of love to their church. They give them half-truths. They do not finish the sentence.

They preach their personal opinions, not giving the people the straight truth of love. The people who are hungry for love eat it. Because they know no better, not all preachers do this, but many do.

The world is full of people looking for someone to love them. Only because no one has ever told them they have been loved all along by someone Greater than Human Flesh.

To love unconditionally and wholly.
