Cinderella: The Glass Bride
When the clock struck midnight, her body turned to glass.

After the ball, the prince searched for the girl who vanished in a shimmer of frost. But when he found her, she wasn’t breathing. Her heart, fragile and transparent, beat only when light passed through it. He married her anyway, terrified to lose what he couldn’t understand.
Every year, a new crack appeared in her chest. The king ordered mirrors removed from the palace; they reflected not her beauty, but the fractures spreading beneath her ribs.
When she finally shattered, no one saw it happen. Only the slipper remained — melted into sand.
