Businesswoman Chapter 112
Mega

Church bells rang. The clear notes afforded any listener to wonder about the minds who would be challenged by the thought of an existence of God. Neither Loreen, Lisa, or Atkinson held belief in material or the supernatural. They attended services not out of irony, but to observe the faithful.
They noticed the believers’ rituals. Their song and dance seemed rather superficial. The message presented the steak to all the sizzle.
This particular Sunday service spoke of blood, fire, lions, and lambs. The three attended this megachurch in Delaware with three thousand parishioners a week. The small state appeared to cram into the space.
There were other wealthy and prominent figures in the crowd so no one hounded them for business advice before, during, or after service.
The elements of Communion contained a wafer and grape juice to represent not just cannibalism but also the attempt to extinguish the mind. Atkinson wondered if Christianity had been some fringe cult and someone said, “Yes, and then we take the body and blood. It’s not real flesh or life juice, but you get the idea!” they would be banished to the confines of mental instability.
They just looked at each other and grinned. They were not grins of derision or scorn but a patient, quiet rejection. They were knowing and representing something altogether respectful of the majority of the world.
After service the three of them entertained a few autographs from young businesspeople and exchanged digital information. The pastor, Reverend Foster Cates looked at this as okay as he preached the word of prosperity. He wanted Jesus to bless his flock financially, so in turn they would bless him.
In scriptures, God’s Son grew furious at the fact that money changers transacted in a house of worship. Those days had since passed.
