Me and my grandkids

Hello, Vocal. My name is Stuart.

I am a Lieutenant General in the Army and a lifelong observer of life’s intricate moments. While my career has been defined by service and leadership, I find inspiration and solace in poetry. Writing allows me to express what words often fail to capture — the quiet beauty of the everyday and the profound depth of human experiences.

My poetry is not crafted for praise but for connection. With an unassuming style, I aim to gently guide readers to see the extraordinary hidden in the ordinary: a fleeting sunset, the weathered grace of an old photograph, or the shadows that whisper stories in an empty room. Much of my writing is inspired by grief from losing my wife and daughter.

I have walked the path of deep love and the profound silence of loss, as a widower who cherishes every shared glance and whispered word. These experiences have shaped me and taught me the value of cherishing the people we hold dear. Yet, I believe love, like poetry, is an ever-evolving verse, with new stanzas waiting to be written.

I hope to connect with someone who appreciates the delicate poetry of life — someone who finds joy in simplicity, quiet laughter, and meaningful conversation. Together, perhaps we can create a shared story that is both beautiful and worth remembering
