If anyone wants to read a great and fast read on how to achieve in many aspects of living their lives? Here is a book written by Darrin Donnelly entitled 'Old School Grit' with the subtitle-Times May Change but the Rules for Success Never Do. In this book the writer takes many lessons from famous BB and FB (basketball and/or football) coaches with their famous quotes that are presented at the beginning of each chapter.
Each chapter is actually a letter that was written by Coach Bob Flanagan of St. Rita's University during his last basketball season to his grandkids, and to the start of his greatest battle. Each chapter is a rule that he lives by and wants to pass down to his family and friends and whomever can or could benefit from them. Each chapter title is a rule.
Here is the list which is also the Table of Contents for the book.
#1 Don't accept your fate, create your destiny
#2 You'll only achieve what you believe you can achieve
#3 Embrace the pressure*
#4 Finish strong*
#5 Find something you love to do and stick with it*
#6 Keep moving forward
#7 Put the needs of others above your own
#8 Live for purpose greater than yourself
#9 Eliminate negative influences
#10 Effort trumps talent
#11 Focus only the things you can control
#12 Don't waste a day
#13 Life is a series of wins and lessons

All of these chapters (letters) are all good lessons to learn and keep. The ones I put a star (*) beside are the ones that fit with my living life now. I am and did follow my dreams so far in my life. (If interested read my new article I just published entitled 'My Obit' that kind of describes the lessons and things I have accomplished trying to follow these rules for the road.
