That day, finding the way back...

Ngày Ấy Tìm Về

Con grew up from the hunched back of mother

Father's salty sweat drops on his shirt

From the sun and rain of July, of March

The cuckoo's call beckons the distant shore yesterday

Con loves father in the scorching summer noon

Bare back cut by straw

The tea water brims with fragrant aroma

The kitchen smoky... yearning for the scent of fresh rice

Con feels the bare footprints of plowing

The sweet potato field stretching when the storm comes

The evening breeze drifting along the countryside

The old boat... in the evening, returns to sleep

The solitary moon shines on the head filled with longing

Still waiting for fireflies to bloom on the pond bank

The wildflowers peeking through the fence

To be forever etched in memory

Oh, the old days... Con wants to return once more

To see mother old, sitting by the door gazing into the distance

The twilight falls... bending the bamboo tops

As if lamenting...

Missing father...

Those days.
