Rachel Reviews: Silent Bites by Melissa Ingoldsby
I do like a good love story and Melissa Ingoldsby does them very well. In fact, she is a romantic for the modern age, I think. She has no trouble imagining situations which are very much relationships of the 21st century and bringing the love into the light with her depiction of them and the people who find themselves there. Having already read two of her novels (links provided below), this book has all of the traits of her previous books but this one felt slightly different, a quieter read, gentler, evolving at a pace that was cautious but controlled. It felt more confident and I enjoyed it very much.

Where Have all the Epics Gone?. Top Story - July 2026.
With the recent debut of Christopher Nolan's take on Homer's classic tale, I've had a lot of time to reflect on the modern view of classical literature, particularly the ancient trend of the epic poem. Does the world even understand the methods of writing that Homer employed, or do we simply grab for the nearest copy of the Cliff Notes, NIV edition to help with the digestion of what we often mistake as complex and archaic?

9 Dark Fantasy Books That Deserve a Spot on Your Reading List . AI-Generated.
There is something unforgettable about dark fantasy books. Unlike traditional fantasy, where hope often shines brightly against the darkness, dark fantasy thrives in the shadows. It explores morally gray characters, cursed kingdoms, ancient evils, forbidden magic, and the difficult choices that define humanity. These stories remind us that heroes can fail, villains can be sympathetic, and sometimes the greatest battles happen within ourselves.
