Sweet Escape from Reality-The Fictional World

When things get overwhelming for me in the real world, I love to enter the fictional world of books. I feel I can connect to the main characters so much that they are like my friends when I enter their world. I want the best things for them. Here is how I started reading:

My mom introduced me to the fictional world of books when I was 15. I never really understood why my mom and sister loved reading books so much when watching movies and series seemed more entertaining than reading. So, when my mom first introduced me to the fictional world of books at 15, I was a little skeptical at first but gave it a try for two reasons: one, I was curious about why my mom and sister loved it, and two, I was frankly bored of watching television and movies during the summer break.

My first book was The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. It was a young adult love story. Although I don't exactly remember the story because I read it a long time ago, I still remember the joy I felt while reading the book. I could relate to the emotions so much that I felt bad when I finished reading it. It was as if I was saying goodbye to my friends.

I think it’s then that I understood why my mom and sister loved reading. You get to enter the fictional world, meet people you can relate to, and when you read a good book, you get so hooked that you don't want to do anything else. That’s how I started reading, fell in love with the fictional world, and The Truth About Forever will always be special to me because it introduced me to the magical fictional world.
