Salima and Salim

So this is love

By Aysha BelloPublished 2 years ago • 2 min read

Salima and Salim's love story began like a fairy tale. They met in college, and their eyes locked in a way that neither of them could explain. It was as if the universe had brought them together, and they knew in that instant that they were meant to be.

Their love blossomed, and they spent every spare moment together. They would take long walks, holding hands, and talk about their dreams and aspirations. Salim was smitten with Salima's beauty, both inside and out. She was kind, intelligent, and had a sparkle in her eyes that lit up his world.

After graduating, Salim proposed to Salima, and she said yes. They got married in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by friends and family. Their love continued to grow, and they had three beautiful children together. There was Ali, the eldest, who had his mother's bright smile and his father's adventurous spirit. Then there was Jamila, the middle child, who had inherited her mother's love of books and her father's passion for music. And finally, there was little Amir, the youngest, who had his mother's mischievous grin and his father's playful sense of humor.

Life was perfect, or so it seemed. But fate had other plans. Salima was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and her health began to decline. Salim was devastated, but he stood by her side, caring for her and their children. He took on the role of both mother and father, working tirelessly to ensure that the children were happy and healthy.

Despite the challenges, Salima's love for Salim and their children never wavered. She fought hard to stay with them, but eventually, her body gave up. Salim was heartbroken, but he knew he had to stay strong for their children. He remembered the promises he had made to Salima, to take care of their children and to make sure they knew how much she loved them.

Years passed, and Salim remarried, hoping to find some semblance of happiness again. He met Amira, a kind and gentle woman who loved children. She became a good mother to Salim's children, but Salim's heart still belonged to Salima. He would often find himself thinking of her, remembering the way she smiled, the way she laughed, and the way she loved him and their children.

As the children grew older, they began to notice the faraway look in their father's eyes. They would catch him staring at old photos of Salima, a smile on his face, and tears in his eyes. They knew that their father still loved their mother deeply, and they respected that love.

One day, Ali, the eldest, asked Salim about the photos. Salim took a deep breath and told Ali about the love he and Salima shared. He told him about the way she made him laugh, the way she always knew how to make him feel better, and the way she loved him with all her heart. Ali listened intently, and for the first time, he understood why his father still carried a torch for Salima.

As the years went by, Salim's love for Salima continued to shine through the children she left behind. He saw her in their smiles, their laughter, and their eyes. He knew that she would always be with him, in spirit, and that their love would never truly die.

Salim :“There’s so much of you in my heart salma “.
