“Deadheaded” Newly Released!

Book Review of Poppy’s new poetry book

Photo taken in my garden… it needs dead-heading!

Disclaimer: book reviews are not my forte… this only the second I’ve attempted. Apologies to Poppy in advance!

I freely admit that I was pleasantly surprised by this book… which is definitely no reflection on Poppy’s writing skills.

“Deadheaded” crept up on me as an inspirational read. In case you're unaware, I prefer cheerful, amusing reads. Unfortunately, not all of life is sunshine and roses!

Sadly, far too many people are struggling to survive relationship breakups. This is a book which should speak to them.

Unsurprisingly, my favourite poems are near the end of the book, with the promise of hope and life flourishing once again.

I especially like these lines:

“Press lavender into the corner of your mind that keeps demanding closure…

Let the flowers bloom there.

Bring them home and let the seeds yield restoration.”

"Deadheaded" by Poppy

Well done Poppy! 🥳
