Steps began to echo as the entity’s feet met with the ground, and the crunch of leaves seemed to grow closer with every second,

His chuckling suddenly lifted to graze Eulie’s ears and she furrowed her brows in confusion,

“You can’t speak. I know this is probably a bit alarming for you. But you see, in the past screaming gave me a crushing migraine and I’ve learned to take precautions. However, I’d like to speak with you so…”

The creature trailed its words, stepping forth once more. Eulie, still slightly euphoric from whatever gaseous device he’d used, remained limp as the entity continued its speech,

“If I remove the gag will you behave? Tch, I’d so hate to have to punish you…"

Auxilius had sent Ni'amani back to her chamber, but the gnawing worry of what she would do next had not yet fled him. Such was evidenced by the way his nails now beat down unceremoniously upon the armrest his arm lazily rested upon. He'd grown weary of the woman's incessant begging. Of trying to make all the tragic things that had transpired to date somehow his fault. A stern leader, that was what Auxilius' father had been and the boots he had stepped foot in all the heavier due to it. Eulie still didn't know what she was, and to her dissatisfaction was being kept in captivity. It was already a set of problems His Lordship would be preoccupied by and would require utmost patience. But she, she would belong to him – just as was prophesied.

"Your Majesty," the guard's voice broke through his thoughts, and Xi lifted his head to gaze over toward the man.

"Where is the girl?" He responded, without a moment's hesitation.

"I have had her sent to the bathing chambers. She was scarcely in position to meet with the court, Sir."

"Ah, you did well with this. I need my pipe."

"Straightaway, Sir." Came the soft voice of a servant girl standing toward the back wall closest to Prince Xi's throne.

"I've another question, Sir?"

"Hm, what is that?" The Prince queried with a disinterested tone.

"Well, will you be preparing her for harem keep?"

"The Eunuch asked this already? Heh, curious that one." Prince Xi murmured, "I haven't decided. Her attitude will be measuring her caste placing."

"Aye, understood, Sir. I will return with the girl after her bathing."

"Be sure that you do. My patience...wanes."
