Bangabandhu, My Inspiration.

You must have heard the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman many a time. But how much do you know about him? Do you know that he has three names - khoka to his closest ones, Bangabandhu to the people of Bangladesh, and the great leader,Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to the world?

Bangabandhu was the dreamer of an independent Bangladesh. He sacrificed every bit of Himself and led Bangladesh to achieve its Independence. His love for the people and sacrifice for the country made him the Father of the nation.

He was a born leader. His love and care for the people made him speak for all of us. He never accepted any injustice done to anyone. From his very childhood, he always stood by his friends in times of need. If he saw anybody in his class who could not afford to buy an umbrella,he gave away his own so that the boy did not have to suffer in the heat or rain. Sometimes, he even gave away his textbooks. Do you help your friends?

He was always confident and courageous. He was not afraid to speak up Against injustice. Once when he was a student of Gopalgonj Missionary school, the Chief Minister of undivided Bengal, Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque visited the school.

Then, Mujib along with his friend came forward with Their demands to repair the school hostels roof. Afterwards, the chief minister sanctioned the money. Do you ever speak for your friends or community?

Bangabandhu was a football lover. He loved to play football, volleyball, and hockey. He had a reputation as a team player. Do you play any of these sports?

He was a knowledgeable person. He was a great speaker too. In those days, there was no internet or smartphones. He gathered knowledge by reading newspapers. Do you any newspapers?

He loved people and was always surrounded by them. He could mix with people easily. He was libarel. He wanted people from all communities to live together in harmony. His only dream was to see Bangladesh as a free, peaceful, and prosperous nation. Will you be a part of making his dream true?

Mina : Hi. Dina. would you please tell me what Bangabandhu’s dream was?

Dina : Of course, I would. His dream was to make Bangladesh as a free. peaceful and prosperous nation.

Mina: Right! you know, people call him ‘The Father of the Nation”, why?

Dina : Because of his love for the people and sacrifice for the country. Not only that he had many qualities too such as he was courageous. How do you know that?

Mina : Listen, when he was a school student, he along with his friends went to the then Chief Minister Sher-e-Bangla A.K. Fazlul Haque with their demands to repair the school hostel’s roof. It was possible only for his courage.

Dina : Right you are! Do you know about his favourite sport and why he read newspapers?

Mina : Yes, I do. His favourtie sport was football. And he read newspapers to gather knowledge.

Sunipa : Yes. I can. Bangabandhu was born on 17 March in 1920 in Tungipara. So, Deepa do you know what his nickname was?

Deepa : Yes, I do. His nickname was ‘Khoka’ By the way he was very friendly in his childhood.

Sunipa : But how do you know that?

Deepa : Because he loved his friends and other people very much. He always stood by his friends and others in their need.

Sunipa : Right Can you tell a childhood story of Bangabandhu that expresses his love for the people?

Deepa : Yes, I can. Once he gave away his own umbrella to one of his classmates who could not afford to buy an umbrella. Sometimes, he even gave away his textbooks. However, does Bangabandhu inspire you to support the truth? If yes, how?
