I was trying to get something together to post this morning, and I was stopped dead in my tracks by this revelation. Maybe the rest of you already knew about this. I was faced with an article that reveals more dispicable behavior by top AI companies. They realized that canniblizing the same internet slop over and over was destroying their models. So they have been adding books, not just the digital copies that are on the internet, they are destroying books to feed them into scanners and shredding the pages when they are finished.

This is how mass information is accelerated. Even now, most people would never think to look at a book to fact-check the information they are reading online. If this continues, there will be no option left. We know that destroying culture, contradictory information, and any materials that could shed the light of empathy on the peoples being scapegoated is a hallmark of fascism. Welcome to the future. The government doesn't need to burn the books itself; although they already have. AI, which, never forget, is created and programmed by real humans, is doing it for them.

This is the article I read, and I encourage you to read it as well. I highlighted the main point, but there is more critical information regarding who is doing this and how.
