    Our Relationship with Time

    Our Relationship with Time

When I awakened my relationship with time changed significantly. I always understood, as many people do, that time is linear - at least my understanding of military time. However, time can be seen very differently than this. I became accustomed to the day-night cycle. Always feeling like I could fall asleep when the sun was setting and waking up when the sun rose. I haven't experienced that before my awakening. In fact, I would always try to stay up late until 2AM like all my friends watching TV, studying, or reading a book. I never payed attention to the sunset or the sunrise and I never felt consciously, their effect of its energy on me when it came to my sleep cycle, to the extent that I do now.

How to Balance our 5 Elements

How to Balance our 5 Elements

How do we become imbalanced with our elements? There are several ways to answer this question. Firstly, it could be the food we eat or the diet we maintain. Secondly, it could be our environment including our emotional health and support from others, and lastly, it could be our general lifestyle. The laws of the universe apply to everyone. No one is above them and no one can avoid them. The food we choose to eat can have a direct impact on our genetics. That is why it is important to eat organic plant-based nutrition. Avoiding animal products as much as possible is also important because it is important to share the love for animals not to take their lives. Maintaining healthy behaviors and attitudes with people is also important. Not only karmicly but there can be severe direct consequences for violent behaviors. Psychological abuse is known to cause a variety of illnesses in victims. When someone is made to feel guilty by another for example, it can cause a knotting of energy. The knots of energy can occur anywhere in any of the chakras, but most commonly they can occur in the sacral and solar plexus. Our relationships directly can effect our sacral chakra. Our solar plexus contains our stomach where two opposing elements need to remain balanced. The water and fire elements. Having an unsteady emotional pattern or repetitive negative emotions can easily cause stomach problems. Some people develop depression and feelings of helplessness in such cases. It is important to treat each other with respect and integrity regardless of what opinion you may have of them.

The 5 Elements and the 7 Chakras

The 5 Elements and the 7 Chakras

In Ayurveda it is described that the five elements were formed in the following way: First there was pure consciousness (non-material energy) and from the subtle vibrations of this energy the ether element was formed. When the ether element began to move it created air. Friction between the moving elements of air and ether created heat forming the fire element. When the Fire element melted and liquified, it created water. Finally some of the fire solidified and formed the earth element.

Mystery of the Pineal Gland Unveiled

Mystery of the Pineal Gland Unveiled

The mystery of the Pineal gland remains even to this day. It is this not-so-well studied gland right in the center of our brain. Only recently has science found some interesting things about it. If we look at the Fibonacci sequence, the gland fits right into the center at the start of the sequence and the rest of our brain follows the shape as well. This is just to mention one interesting thing, however there is much more to this gland. Dysfunctions in the Pineal gland can lead to many of the common psychiatric and biological illnesses such as depression, psychosis, and insomnia just to name a few. Let’s look at how it functions biologically and how its function plays a key role in our mood and sleep-wake cycle.
