What's a Job Worth
I stared over the edge of the old stone bridge at the frozen pond below, when my wife had said that she wanted to put her eggs on ice so that we could have children later in life, this was not the way I had thought that things would go. That her work would offer her the chance to take part in the first human trials of lab-grown babies, and that she would want to take the offer.

Living Fear
The fear, it was too much, I had to get away from the edge, but I couldn't. If I stepped back I would fail her a second time. I had to jump. And the traffic lights, in the distance I could see them, so far away but it was clear as day, they were green. Jump when they turn green, that’s what Martha had said, jump when they go green.

The Longest Train Ride
I’m sat on the floor of the carriage, and the train is now thundering along the tracks. My owner has either forgotten or abandoned me. Be Okay
I couldn’t take my eyes off the chocolate cake, or rather the one slice of it that remained. It had been my little brother's birthday cake, how was I supposed to know a slice of it would be poisonous for dogs? Nobody had told me that, it’s not fair that I should get in so much trouble. Especially considering how upset I am, Jack was my best friend, not mum and dad’s.

The Crazy Dude and the Barn
I had so much work to do for my university dissertation, and I really should start doing it, but it was such a nice day that I managed to “persuade” myself that I deserved some chill time first, just to clear my head before getting started. I lived in the countryside and there was this nice field not far from where I lived. Nobody ever went there, making it perfect for just laying back and chilling out. I was nearly at that field now and couldn’t wait to just lie back on the nice soft grass and watch the few clouds in the sky pass overhead.

The Library of Feelings
Wow, what a blast of heat, heaven help me the sun was already starting to rise. If I took the underground route I would never make it into the library in time. And I had to make it in time, even now all I could do was dream of my yacht drifting on the horizon, the storm clouds brewing overhead. I was a woman at sea, but only if I made it in time.
