After years of tweaking, I've settled on a system for a beautiful, bright Instagram feed. And today I'm sharing this system step-by-step! Grab a cup of tea and get your creative cap on, it's time to edit some photos!
It's far too easy to set goals—my journals are packed full of them—and far too difficult to achieve them. Despite making my goals SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely), I often end up looking back at my old journal entries and feeling disheartened at the lack of progress I've made.
Have you ever looked at someone's Instagram story, scratched your head and thought... How exactly did they do that? I certainly have, and after a few Insta-experiments, I think I've cracked most of the tricks that you see on the 'gram.
No matter where in the world you are, there's a photoshoot location right around the corner.
Notice how I didn't say a pretty location, or even an interesting location. I can't guarantee that you live in a vibrant city with a glistening skyline, nor that you're surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes. What I do know for sure is that you don't need to stray far from home to take some incredible photos.
When I first started out in photography, I would take self-portrait after self-portrait, slowly building up my skills and learning creative techniques until... My sorry ol' face just wasn't cutting it anymore. The glorified selfies that I'd been taking may have helped me get to grips with my DSLR, but I had no idea how to direct and organise a photoshoot outside of my bedroom. It was time to start working with actual models.
