The time i dread is when the cold comes
There are no blows, no discomforting touch
The words out of mouth aren’t overt in harshness
But i dread when the cold comes
Because then your bite gets worse
Verbal disgust where one should expect
Gentler words as before when skin felt warm
Your pain changes you, like a drink would or a drug
And then nothing is enough.
For a quarter of days, all my flaws are on display
For you to prick at, to spit poison at, always with
The hard change that always comes to your face
I dread when the cold comes
Because it always makes you change.
