What You Believe
This piece was created by my youngest daughter last year. Wynter has been creating art, ever since she could hold a crayon. She has recently graduated from Herron School of Art, in Indianapolis and is preparing to move to NY for grad school. Everyday I am amazed at her skill and passion for expression. Using her pieces to create a story brings me unbelievable joy. Thank you for your time, in reading my work, but more for supporting a young, incredibly talented artist. To believe or not to believe: it's a path that you to choose.

Exploring the Intersection of Art and Everyday Life
Exploring the Intersection of Art and Everyday Life: Finding Inspiration in the Ordinary Introduction: Art has always been a powerful medium for self-expression, capturing the essence of human experience and allowing us to see the world through different perspectives. While we often associate art with grand masterpieces displayed in prestigious galleries, there is a fascinating and often overlooked aspect of art that finds inspiration in the ordinary. This concept celebrates the beauty and significance of the everyday, elevating the mundane into something extraordinary. By exploring the intersection of art and everyday life, we can uncover profound insights, challenge our perceptions, and find inspiration in the most unexpected places.Seeing Beauty in the Mundane: In our fast-paced lives, we tend to overlook the beauty that surrounds us. We become so focused on achieving our goals or navigating the challenges of everyday life that we forget to pause and appreciate the simple wonders of our surroundings. However, art has the remarkable ability to transform the ordinary into something extraordinary. It encourages us to observe our environment with fresh eyes, allowing us to discover beauty in the mundane. Artists throughout history have captured the essence of everyday life, shedding light on the ordinary moments that often go unnoticed. Whether it's a still life painting of fruits on a table, a photograph of a bustling city street, or a poem inspired by the rhythm of a rain shower, these artistic expressions invite us to pause and appreciate the subtle details that make up our lives. Finding Inspiration in Everyday Experiences: The ordinary experiences we encounter daily can be a rich source of inspiration for artistic creation. By paying attention to the little things and embracing a sense of curiosity, we open ourselves up to a world of creative possibilities. Art as a Reflection of Society: Art has long served as a mirror to society, reflecting its values, challenges, and triumphs. By incorporating everyday elements into artistic expressions, artists can provide social commentary and shed light on the lived experiences of individuals. They capture the nuances of daily life, portraying the struggles, joys, and complexities that define our existence. Through their work, artists connect with audiences on a profound level, creating empathy and fostering dialogue about the shared human experience. Artistic Approaches to Everyday Materials: Artists often utilize everyday materials or found objects in their creations, blurring the boundaries between art and life. This approach, known as "assemblage" or "readymade," challenges traditional notions of art and transforms ordinary objects into artistic statements. Artists like Marcel Duchamp, with his famous urinal artwork titled "Fountain," have redefined the concept of art by elevating everyday objects to the status of art, encouraging us to question the definitions and boundaries we place on artistic expression. Art in Public Spaces: Public art installations and murals in urban environments have the power to transform mundane cityscapes into vibrant and engaging spaces. By bringing art into public spaces, artists invite people to interact with their surroundings in new and creative ways. Sculptures, street art, and installations can become focal points that inspire contemplation, spark conversations, and enhance the overall aesthetic of a community. Public art blurs the distinction between art and everyday life, making artistic experiences accessible to all. Art Therapy and Self-Expression: Art therapy is a powerful tool that harnesses the therapeutic benefits of art for self-expression, healing, and personal growth. By engaging in artistic practices, individuals can explore their emotions, process experiences, and gain new insights. Art therapy encourages the use of everyday materials and techniques to create meaningful expressions, providing a means of communication when words fall short. Through art, individuals can find solace, gain clarity, and cultivate a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. Art as Ritual and Celebration: Throughout history, art has been intertwined with rituals and celebrations in various cultures. From traditional dance and music to visual arts and storytelling, art becomes an integral part of everyday rituals, ceremonies, and festivities. By incorporating art into these practices, communities connect with their cultural heritage, strengthen social bonds, and find joy and meaning in the rhythms of everyday life. The use of art in rituals and celebrations reaffirms its significance in our shared human experience. In conclusion, the intersection of art and everyday life is a dynamic and multifaceted space. It offers countless opportunities for exploration, self-expression, and inspiration. By recognizing the beauty and significance of the ordinary, challenging our perceptions, and incorporating artistic practices into our daily lives, we can uncover profound insights and embrace the transformative power of art. Whether as creators or appreciators, we can find inspiration in the everyday and celebrate the extraordinary moments that shape our existence.

VERY SHORT STORIES TO DEVOUR IN RECORD TIME
In 2019, I wrote an article for Book Riot about how some of the best fiction I read was under 1,000 words. I still stand by that statement. Very short stories — also known as flash fiction, micro fiction, drabbles, and the like — are a delightful form of fiction. They are tiny punches of great writing and can come in all genres.

The Ninth Wave
To some, the ocean is a dangerous place, full of peril, darkness, and an enveloping drowning of surroundings. But for Captain Espoir and his crew, the ocean offered things that nothing else on earth can offer. It offered an area of endless possibilities. A place where the water could be almost like the paintbrush to the canvas of these individuals lives. Many have found endless riches and fames because of their travels on the sometimes treacherous waters of the ocean. It offered many possibilities, but the possibilities only favored those that took the biggest risks. Everyone knew about the conquerors of the world, who found new lands for their people to go and settle in. Some of the other Captains were able to find lands that would provide solace and offer so much resources. Espoir and his crew were traversing through the waters for one simple reason: they wanted to show that they could do what others before them couldn't. Travel around the world in a record amount of time.
